Cervical cancer ranks as the fourth most prevalent among women globally, with approximately 600,000 new cases being diagnosed each year. The principal driver of cervical is human papillomavirus (HPV), where viral oncoproteins E6 and E7 undertake role driving its carcinogenic potential. Despite extensive investigative efforts, numerous facets concerning HPV infection, replication, pathogenesis remain shrouded in uncertainty. virus operates through a variety epigenetic mechanisms, signature HPV-related tumors major bottleneck our understanding disease. Recent investigations have unveiled capacity to influence changes within tumors, conversely, these exert an on surrounding landscape. Given escalating occurrence HPV-triggered deficiency efficacious treatments, substantial challenges emerge. A promising avenue address this challenge lies modulators. This review aggregates dissects potential modulators capable combatting HPV-associated infections diseases. By delving into modulators, novel avenues for therapeutic interventions against HPV-linked cancers come fore.

The microbiota in the female genital tract is an intricate assembly of diverse aerobic, anaerobic, and microaerophilic microorganisms, which share space within reproductive engage complex interactions. Microbiome dysbiosis may disrupt symbiotic relationship between host microorganisms play a pivotal role pathogenesis various diseases, including its involvement establishment human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated cervical cancer (CC). Interventions to restore homeostasis (e.g., probiotics) bacterial-vector HPV therapeutic vaccines have been reported be potentially effective clearing infection ameliorating cytological abnormalities. In this review, we place emphasis on elucidating alterations cervical-vaginal as well intratumoral context high-risk (HR-HPV) subsequent progression intraepithelial neoplasia/CC. Furthermore, explore mechanisms by these microbial communities exert potential pathogenic or protective effects, modulating inflammation immune responses, affecting HR-HPV oncogene expression oncoprotein production, regulating oxidative stress deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) damage, inducing metabolic rewiring. Lastly, summarize latest evidence trials regarding efficacy probiotics, prebiotics probiotic-vector vaccines. Co-infection with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) significantly increases the incidence of papillomavirus (HPV) infection and HPV-related cancers among men who have sex (MSM). Conversely, HPV can also influence HIV acquisition rates. HIV-induced immune suppression may affect chromosomal stability, gene expression, protein function other molecular components in MSM cancers. Additionally, alters cellular mechanisms by compromising responses epithelial integrity. In this review, we reviewed on specific MSM, including oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma, penile cancer, anal cancer. We integrated epidemiological data from past five years discussed diagnosis treatment strategies. Overall, our review offers crucial insights into underlying these co-infection patients. Our aims to assist future research developing effective strategies for HIV/HPV co-infection.

While majority studies have concentrated on urogenital system cancers and head neck cancers, relationship between gastrointestinal particularly esophageal has also been subject investigation. Given a disease can be prevented through vaccination treated antiviral agents, identifying pathogen may inform treatment these cancers. Abstract Human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated malignancies account for ~5% of human cancers worldwide. Thirteen, or more, HPV types are oncogenic, but infection with these viruses is common and usually cleared within 2 years. Only infections that become persistent associated the development cancer, often occurring several decades later. These mostly arise in 6 different anatomical regions: 5 anogenital (anus, cervix, penis, vagina, vulva) sixth oropharynx. Oncogenic HPVs promote cellular proliferation genomic instability, niche target tissue also plays an important role cancer. Cells reside transitional regions between epithelia, such as anus, oropharynx, particularly vulnerable to oncogenesis.

ABSTRACT Objectives Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the leading cause of cervical cancer, with adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in sub-Saharan Africa carrying a disproportionately high burden infection. Hormonal contraceptives may influence HPV acquisition, persistence, clearance, but evidence remains inconclusive. This sub-study aimed to evaluate impact different hormonal on prevalence genotype distribution AGYW. Methods Ninety-eight HIV-seronegative AGYW aged 15–19 years from South were randomized receive one three contraceptive methods: norethisterone enanthate (Net-EN) injectable, combined oral pills (COCPs), or etonorgesterol/ethinyl estradiol vaginal ring (CCVR). Cervical DNA samples collected at baseline after 16 weeks for genotyping using Direct Flow Chip test. prevalence, acquisition analyzed across methods. Results At baseline, was (94.9%), no differences among arms. After weeks, remained (89.5%) groups. No significant observed overall by method. Longitudinal analysis revealed that Net-EN tended have higher cumulative number high-risk (HR-HPV) genotypes cleared whereas those CCVR acquired more HR-HPV types had greater persistence compared other Conclusions study highlights African However, methods did not significantly dynamics.

Risk factors are manifold, principally related to a suppressed immune system with intercurrent immunosuppressant medications commonly used in context SOT. Opportunistic viral infections encountered SOT crucial promoters mitogenic proliferation several common tumors. Lastly, suppressant therapy trigger changes directly.
