The rapid emergence and global dissemination of the Omicron variant SARS-CoV-2 have posed formidable challenges in public health. This scenario underscores urgent need for an enhanced understanding Omicron's pathophysiological mechanisms to guide clinical management shape health strategies. Our study is aimed at deciphering intricate molecular underlying infections, particularly focusing on identification specific biomarkers.

In severe cases, SARS-CoV-2 infection leads to respiratory failure. Although angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptors are not expressed in red blood cells, can interact with cells (RBCs) via several or auxiliary membrane proteins. Recent data show that viral causes significant damage the RBCs, altering their morphology, deformability, and aggregability. Loss of RBC deformability and/or increased aggregability favors development thrombotic processes microcirculation, as has been described occur COVID-19 patients. addition, many patients also develop systemic endotheliitis associated generalized coagulopathy. This manifests itself clinically obstructive microthrombi area medium smallest vessels, which affect all internal organs. It is thought such changes RBCs may contribute microangiopathy/microthrombosis result impaired capillary flow tissue oxygenation.

Abstract Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by reduced platelet levels and heightened susceptibility to bleeding resulting from augmented autologous destruction diminished thrombopoiesis. Although antibody‐mediated reactions are widely recognized as primary factors, the precise etiological agents that trigger ITP remain unidentified. The pathogenesis of remains unclear owing absence comprehensive high‐throughput data, except for belated emergence autoreactive antibodies. In this study, using flow cytometry (FCM), proteomics, single‐cell RNA sequencing samples patients with ITP, it shown exosome‐mediated lectin complement pathway involved in which triggers enlarges activation cascade without effective regulation because downregulated CD55. activated system enhances immune response resistin further Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor (MIF) several proinflammatory signaling pathways, contribute survival hyperactivated cells dysfunctional arachidonic acid (AA) metabolism. MIF also identified potential contributors resistance glucocorticoid therapy. Taken together, findings indicate system, resistin, MIF, AA metabolism may serve promising targets treatment, offering novel perspectives on therapeutic interventions.
