Cognitive impairment is one of the common clinical manifestations depression, causing negative distress to patients. Elevated homocysteine (Hcy) concentrations and gut microbiome dysfunction may be observed in patients with depression. To investigate relationship between Hcy, microbiome, cognition depressive We recruited 67 major disorder (MDD) (MDD group) 94 healthy controls (HCs) individuals (HCs group). Serum Hcy levels were determined using enzyme circulation method. 16s rRNA sequencing was used classify identify fecal bacteria. 17 Hamilton depression rating scale MATRICS consensus cognitive battery evaluate mood states MDD. Correlation analysis performed explore correlation flora, function. serum seen MDD compared individuals. Patients indicated significant decreases scores (P < 0.001) six modules: Speed processing, working memory, visual learning, reasoning problem-solving, social cognition, total scores. showed a processing speed, 0.05). also significantly negatively correlated Alistipes, Ruminococcae, Tenericides, Porphyromonas Our results highlight that This interaction related physiological pathological mechanisms underlying deficits

This critical review of the literature shows that there is a close link between microbiome, gut, and brain in Parkinson's disease. The vagus nerve, main component parasympathetic nervous system, involved regulation immune response, digestion, heart rate, control mood. It can detect microbiota metabolites through its afferents, transferring this gut information to central system. Preclinical clinical studies have shown important role played by microbiome gut-related factors disease development progression, as well treatment responses. These findings suggest may be valuable target for new therapeutic strategies More are needed better understand underlying biology how axis modulated patient's benefit.

Due to its abundance of physiologically active ingredients, one the oldest medicinal herbs, elderberry (EB) Sambucus nigra L., is beneficial for both therapeutic and dietary purposes. This study determined bioaccessibility phenolic compounds prebiotic potential polyphenols from freeze-dried EB powder (FDEBP), along with antioxidant antimicrobial activities this extract. The most significant in black are represented by anthocyanins (41.8%), predominating cyanidin-sambubiosides cyanidin-glucosides (90.1% identified anthocyanins). FRAP assay obtained highest activity value (185 ± 0.18 μmol Fe2+/g DW). sensitive extract was proven be Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa had lowest minimum inhibitory concentration 1.95 mg/mL. To determine polyphenols, cell growth five probiotic strains (Lactobacillus plantarum, L. casei, rhamnosus, fermentum Saccharomyces boulardii) tested. influence on positive all used. Overall, increase (p < 0.05) recorded at 1.5% FDEBP, casei a index (GI) 152.44%, very closely followed GI 0.5% 1% concentrations. stability total through simulated gastronitestinal digestion increased (93%), also elevated (75%).

Abstract Emotion dysregulation (ED) describes a difficulty with the modulation of which emotions are felt, as well when and how these experienced or expressed. It is focal overarching symptom in many severe prevalent neuropsychiatric diseases, including bipolar disorders (BD), attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), borderline personality (BPD). In all disorders, ED can manifest through symptoms depression, anxiety, affective lability. Considering symptomatic similarities between BD, ADHD, BPD, transdiagnostic approach promising lens investigation. Mounting evidence supports role peripheral inflammatory markers stress multifactorial aetiology physiopathology BPD. Children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) or are more prone to gastrointestinal (GI) than the general population. These can significantly affect their health, learning, and development due various factors such as genetics, environment, behavior. The causes of GI in children ASD include gut dysbiosis, immune dysfunction, food sensitivities, digestive enzyme deficiencies, sensory processing differences. Many studies suggest that numerous experience problems, effective management is crucial. Diagnosing typically done through genetic, neurological, functional, behavioral assessments observations, while tests not consistently reliable. Some may increase risk developing exacerbating symptoms. Addressing issues individuals improve overall well-being, leading better behavior, cognitive function, educational abilities. Proper digestion, nutrient absorption, appetite by relieving physical discomfort pain. Helicobacter pylori is a pathogenic bacterium that causes gastritis and gastric carcinoma. Besides complications its potential link with gut-brain axis disruption neurological disorders has also been reported. The current study investigated the plausible role associated molecular mechanism underlaying H. mediated neuroinflammation leading to modalities like Alzheimer's disease (AD). We have chosen antimicrobial resistant susceptible strains on basis of broth dilution method. observed increased inflammatory response exerted by in as well neuronal compartment after treatment derived condition media (HPCM). Further, elevated expression STAT1, STAT3, AD-associated proteins- APP APOE4 was monitored HPCM-treated neuron-astrocyte co-cultured cells. Excessive ROS generation found these HPCM LN229 astrogliosis, evidenced glial fibrillary acidic protein. Our results indicate association STAT3 an important regulator pylori-mediated pathogenesis Notably, inhibition specific inhibitor, BP-1-102, reduced pSTAT3 AD markers induced HPCM. Thus, our demonstrates infection exacerbates inflammation AGS cells modulates activity regulatory molecules. secretome could affect compartments promoting activation inducing signature markers. pSTAT-3 mitigates amyloid pathology.

One of the most challenging and controversial issues in microbiome research is related to gut microbial metabolism neuropsychological disorders. Psychobiotics affect human behavior central nervous system processes via gut-brain axis, involving neuronal, immune, metabolic pathways. They have therapeutic potential treatment several neurodegenerative neurodevelopmental disorders such as depression, anxiety, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's schizophrenia, Huntington's anorexia nervosa, multiple sclerosis. However, mechanisms underlying interaction between psychobiotics abovementioned diseases need further exploration. This review focuses on relationship microbiota its impact neurological disorders, examining a preventive approach, summarising recent axis beneficial effects psychobiotics, highlighting for investigation this area.
