Pemphigoid
diseases
are
autoimmune
chronic
inflammatory
skin
diseases,
which
characterized
by
blistering
of
the
and/or
mucous
membranes,
and
circulating
tissue-bound
autoantibodies.
The
well-established
pathomechanisms
comprise
autoantibodies
targeting
various
structural
proteins
located
at
dermal-epidermal
junction,
leading
to
complement
factor
binding
activation.
Several
effector
cells
thus
attracted
activated,
in
turn
inflict
characteristic
tissue
damage
subepidermal
blistering.
Moreover,
detection
linear
deposits
is
a
diagnostic
hallmark
all
pemphigoid
diseases.
However,
recent
studies
showed
that
might
also
occur
independently
complement.
This
review
reassesses
importance
based
on
current
research
contrasting
contextualizing
data
from
vitro
,
murine
human
studies.

Pemphigus
and
pemphigoid
are
two
potentially
life-threatening
groups
of
autoimmune
diseases,
characterized
by
autoantibodies
targeting
structural
components
desmosomes
or
hemidesmosomes,
respectively.
Affected
patients
typically
show
itchy/painful
plaques
blistering
skin
lesions
and/or
impairing
mucosal
erosions,
which
may
strongly
impact
their
quality
life.
Since
the
milestone
work
Walter
Lever
in
1953,
who
differentiated
these
diseases
histopathological
analysis
level
antibody-mediated
cleavage,
enormous
progresses
occurred.
Achievements
made
laboratory
diagnostics
now
allow
to
identify
antigen
specific
proteins
that
targeted
pathogenic
autoantibodies.
These
were
accompanied
an
increased
understanding
pathogenesis
thanks
establishment
animal
models
reproducing
disease
on
studies
blood
affected
individuals,
have
been
leading
novel
disease-specific
treatments.
Yet,
given
phenotypical
overlap
with
more
common
dermatological
correct
diagnosis
appropriate
treatment

delayed,
some

sequelae,
including
organ
dysfunction
(i.e.,

pemphigoid).

we
provide
a
concise
overview

Atopic
dermatitis
(AD)
is
a
chronic
eczematous
inflammatory
disease
that
may
arise
from
environmental,
genetic,
and
immunological
factors.
Despite
the
efficacy
of
current
treatment
options
such
as
corticosteroids,
approaches
are
mainly
focused
on
symptom
relief
present
certain
undesirable
side
effects.
In
recent
years,
isolated
natural
compounds,
oils,
mixtures,
and/or
extracts
have
gained
scientific
attention
because
their
high
efficiency
moderate
to
low
toxicity.
promising
therapeutic
effects,
applicability
healthcare
solutions
somewhat
limited
by
instability,
poor
solubility,
bioavailability.
Therefore,
novel
nanoformulation-based
systems
been
designed
overcome
these
limitations,
thus
enhancing
potential,
promoting
capacity
drugs
properly
exert
action
in
AD-like
skin
lesions.
To
best
our
knowledge,
this
first
literature
review
has
summarizing
loaded
with
ingredients,
specifically
for
management
AD.
We
suggest
future
studies
should
focus
robust
clinical
trials
confirm
safety
effectiveness
natural-based
nanosystems,
paving
way
more
reliable
AD
treatments.
