The rhizomes of the genus Atractylodes DC. consist various bioactive components, including sesquiterpenes, which have attracted a great deal research interest in recent years. In present study, we reviewed previously published literatures prior to November 2023 on chemical structures, biosynthetic pathways, and pharmacological activities sesquiterpenoids from this via online databases such as Web Science, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect. Phytochemical studies led identification more than 160 notably eudesmane-type sesquiterpenes. Many been demonstrated, particularly anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial antiviral activities.
