Abstract Entomopathogenic fungi are the most effective control remedy against a wide range of medical and agricultural important pests. The present study aimed to isolate, identify, assess virulence Metarhizium rileyi Spodoptera litura frugiperda pupae under soil conditions. biotechnological methods were used identify isolate as M. . fungal conidial pathogenicity (2.0 × 10 7 , 2.0 8 9 11 conidia/mL −1 ) was tested prepupae S. at 3, 6, 9, 12 days after treatments. Additionally, artificial soil‐conidial assay performed on nontarget species earthworm Eudrilus eugeniae using conidia. results showed that caused significant mortality rates in (61‐90%), more susceptible than (46%–73%) day posttreatment. LC 50 90 3.4 14 –9.9 17 6.6 5 –4.6 respectively. conidia did not exhibit any sublethal effect adult stage E. Artemia salina following 12‐day treatment period. Moreover, histopathological evaluation no discernible harm observed gut tissues including lumen epithelial cells, well muscles, setae, nucleus, mitochondria, coelom. findings provide clear evidence can be foundation for development bio‐insecticides combat

Abstract Chemical pesticides are synthetic substances created to manage plant pests. Frequent chemical usage causes extensive damage crops and contributes pest resistance, leading environmental contamination, harm non‐target organisms, the emergence of pesticide‐resistant species, potential health hazards for humans. The aim this study is isolate, identify, characterize biocontrol agents Trichoderma harzianum evaluate their effects on various phytopathogens. T. were tested against fungal phytopathogens, including Sclerotium rolfsii , Alternaria sp ., Pythium aphanidermatum Macrophomina phaseolina Fusarium oxysporum Helminthosporium sativum Aspergillus niger . results clearly showed that, compared other TVK1 demonstrated highest ability suppress with a growth inhibition rate 2.48 cm per day. Beauveria bassiana AAD16, isolated from Allomyrina dichotoma , shows promise as a mycoinsecticide against various coleopterans. However, assessing non-target impacts on beneficial beetles like ladybirds is crucial before commercialization. Here we assessed the compatibility between ladybird and B . AAD16. The virulence of AAD16 strain was compared with that an available commercial strain, GHA, for two developmental stages (adults 3 rd instar larvae) coccinellids, Harmonia axyridis Pallas Chilocorus spp. Say using topical (1μl) application method. ST 50 life were not different tested fungal strains. Mycosis rates recorded dead bodies also significant except in which showed 36 63% GHA strains H while those 40 63%, respectively. In adult stage, mycosis (males females separately) (20–23) % (26–30) strains, (unsexed) 23 30%, caused similar mortality both species. Therefore, conclude would increase risk to these insects pathogen commercialized.

ABSTRACT Pests and diseases have a significant impact on crop health yields, posing serious threat to global agriculture. Effective management strategies, such as integrated pest (IPM), including rotation, use of synthetic pesticides, biological control, resistant/tolerant varieties, are essential mitigate these risks ensure sustainable agricultural practices. Fungal bioagents play an important role in managing phytopathogens insect pests by acting agents. They promote healthy plant growth enhancing the uptake nutrients combating systemic resistance plants. Furthermore, fungal environmentally friendly, reducing application fungicides insecticides minimizing their negative crops environment. Their IPM promotes agriculture ensures high‐quality while maintaining soil microbial biodiversity. These rich sources volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which communication during interaction with phytopathogens. In management, VOC production beneficial fungi is accountable for efficacy against pathogens. Thus, this review discusses producing VOCs, extraction methods VOC, VOC‐producing disease knowledge gaps, future research areas.

The current study aimed to isolate Beauveria brongniartii conidia from forest soils, identify the fungus, and evaluate its effectiveness on eggs, larvae, pupae, adults of Spodoptera litura. Insect mortality rates were recorded every 3, 6, 9, 12 days. identification entomopathogenic fungi was carried out using molecular techniques, including PCR, DNA sequencing, markers, detect species-specific 18 S rDNA genetic sequences, all performed under aseptic conditions. results indicated that higher concentrations (2.7 × 109 conidia/mL) exhibited greater virulence, with eggs showing a rate 98.66%, followed by larvae 96%, 90.66%, pupae 77.33% after Probit analysis revealed minimal LC50 LC90 values: (5.5 102; 1.0 106 spores/mL), (8.2 1.2 107 (9.6 104; 7.3 1010 (1.0 103; 2.0 108 spores/mL). total hemocyte counts detailed observational B. induces cellular breakdown cell lysis in S. litura producing enzymes degrade cuticle membranes. Earthworm bioindicator studies showed effects compared controls, while chemical treatments resulted 96% at 100 ppm. Histopathological examinations no significant differences gut tissue between earthworms treated fungal those control group, unlike substantial damage caused treatments. Biochemical alterations enzyme activity, reduced levels phosphatase catalase, as well increased lipid peroxides superoxide dismutase. This highlights controlling litura, demonstrating potential viable biocontrol agent promoting eco-friendly alternatives pesticides, risk non-target species or environment.

This study evaluated the effects of ZnO and green-synthesized nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) from Sargassum ilicifolium extract on biochemical interactions between tomato leaves destructive pest Tuta absoluta. The average size stability ZnO-NPs were characterized using DLS, X-RD, FE-SEM. Peaks in FT-IR spectrum algae ZnO-NPs, indicated presence carboxyl groups, amines, alkynes alcohols. Treated exhibited increased total chlorophyll anthocyanin contents, particularly at 100 50 ppm, compared to control. A significant increase flavonoid content was observed while phenolic also enhanced ppm. In T. absoluta larvae, exposure ppm led a reduction α-amylase, protease, protein, TAG levels, alongside catalase activity. Additionally, G6PD ALT activities decreased Lactate, MDA, RSSR/RSH Furthermore, elevated larval aldolase activity, AST γ-GT declined. These findings indicate that enhance defense mechanisms mitigate damage, supporting their potential use integrated management strategies against
