Background: There is emerging interest in obesity and its prevalence, outcomes, management people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Body mass index (BMI) the traditional marker of MS, whereas body composition, inclusive specific tissue compartments (e.g., fat, bone, muscle), often overlooked despite relevance. Objective: This narrative review (a) underscored use utility dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) as an accurate reliable measure composition; (b) thematically analyzed synthesized current evidence regarding composition (using DEXA); (c) determined gaps to be addressed future research. Methods: The structure reporting this followed guiding criteria outlined Scale for Assessment Narrative Review Articles (SANRA). relevant literature was identified via a PubMed search utilizing combined terms such ‘body composition’ ‘multiple sclerosis’. research then organized by authors into major themes sub-themes. articles described within were based on saturation Results: Three identified, namely (1) comparison between MS non-MS controls (2 meta-analyses); (2) examination relationships range outcomes (14 cross-sectional studies); (3) interventions that report and/or target (11 clinical trials). Conclusions: mapped existing posits novel, informative, targeted concept population. underscores importance randomized controlled trials focus significant modifiable outcome. Such could improve understanding poor identify useful recommendations diagnosis management.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a neurologic autoimmune disease whose exact pathophysiologic mechanisms remain to be elucidated. Recent studies have shown that the onset and progression of MS are associated with dysbiosis gut microbiota. Similarly, large body evidence suggests mitochondrial dysfunction may also significant impact on development MS. Endosymbiotic theory has found human mitochondria microbial in origin share similar biological characteristics Therefore, microbiota function crosstalk relevant However, relationship between not fully understood. by synthesizing previous literature, this paper focuses changes metabolite composition possible MS, provide new therapeutic approaches for prevention or reduction based crosstalk.

Intermittent fasting focuses on the timing of eating rather than diet quality or energy intake, with evidence supporting its effects weight loss and improvements in cardiometabolic outcomes adults obesity. However, there is limited for feasibility efficacy young people. To address this, a scoping review was conducted to examine intermittent regimens individuals aged 10 25 treatment obesity focusing methodology, intervention parameters, outcomes, adherence, feasibility, efficacy. Due paucity this age group, adequately assess all published studies category, regardless status intention, were included review. The 34 (28 interventional 6 observational studies) 893 participants 12 25. Interventions varied 9 cohorts utilizing as an treatment. Thirteen utilized 8-h time-restricted eating. Primary risk factors (7/28), anthropometric measurements body composition (5/28), muscular performance (4/28), (1/28), others (4/28). All people reported some degree loss, although comparator groups significantly. This underscores various utilizations group highlights potential treating findings emphasize need rigorous standardized frameworks ensure comparability determine fasting's practicality depending outcome interest.

<b><i>Background:</i></b> The gut microbiota (GM) of the human body comprises several species microorganisms. This microorganism plays a significant role in physiological and pathophysiological processes various diseases. <b><i>Methods:</i></b> literature review includes studies that describe causative factors influence GM. GM is sensitive to like circadian rhythms, environmental agents, physical activity, nutrition, hygiene together impact functioning composition microbiome. affects health host, including psycho-neural aspects, due interconnectivity between brain gut. Hence, this paper examines relationship with neurodegenerative disorders context these aforesaid factors. <b><i>Conclusion:</i></b> Future identify regulatory pathways associated microbes can provide causal link degeneration at molecular level. Abstract Elucidating the genetic basis of mammalian metabolism could help define mechanisms central to health and disease. Here, we conserved cis- regulatory elements (CREs) programs for metabolic control. We delineate gene expression chromatin responses in mouse hypothalamus 7 steps Fed-to-Fasted-to-Refed (FFR) response process. Comparative genomics hibernating versus non-hibernating lineages then illuminates showing convergent changes hibernators. Hibernators accumulated loss-of-function effects specific CREs regulating hypothalamic FFR responses. Multi-omics approaches pinpoint key CREs, genes, programs, cell types divergence homeothermic lineages. The refeeding period after extended fasting is revealed as one critical remodeling with genomic changes. This framework a step toward harnessing hibernator adaptations medicine. One sentence summary Convergent signals behind food scarcity hibernator-homeotherm divergence.

The included 39 studies 731 participants 15 25. Methodologies varied, 18 time-restricted others requiring caloric restriction. Primary risk factors (11/29), body composition (9/29), anthropometric measurements (8/29), feasibility (2/29). Most reported significant loss.
