The exploration of natural ingredients to prevent or delay ageing is fascinating develop in the industrial technologies nutraceuticals. Indonesian green algae (Caulerpa racemosa and Caulerpa lentillifera) are predicted contain many bioactive substances that have not been studied intensively but potential be a source anti-ageing. Therefore, this study examine content with related proteins play an important role process vitro study. This reveals novel anti-ageing from two C. lentillifera via modulation mTOR-SIRT1-AMPK pathways their antioxidant abilities. Based on integration these silico vitro, candidates for nutraceuticals pharmaceutical agents, which supported by synergistic effect capacity against free radicals oxidative stress.

Abstract In 2022, there were around 20 million new cases and over 9.7 cancer‐related deaths worldwide. An increasing number of metabolites with anticancer activity in algae had been isolated identified, which promising candidates for cancer therapy. Red are well‐known the production brominated metabolites, including terpenoids phenols, have capacity to induce cell toxicity. Some non‐toxic biological macromolecules, polysaccharides, distinct secondary found many algae, particularly green algae. They possess activities by inhibiting tumor angiogenesis, stimulating immune response, inducing apoptosis. However, structure–activity relationship between these components antitumor activity, as well certain taxa within remains relatively unstudied. This work is based on reports published from 2003 2024 PubMed ISI Web Science databases. A comprehensive review characterized algal active compounds, together their structure mechanism action was performed. Also, preliminarily summarized better assess potential properties a natural, safe bioactive product be used an alternative treatment cancers, leading opportunities drug discovery.

Marine and terrestrial organisms are rich in chemical compounds with medicinal pharmacological properties, including antitumor agents for chemoprevention. Caulerpa racemosa, a marine species, is potential source of novel therapeutic human cancer. This study aimed to determine the anticancer activity C. racemosa extracts breast cancer cells, identify compounds, mechanism using computational models. Seaweed (C. racemosa) was taken from North Sulawesi, Indonesia; Followed by authentication identification according previously published protocol extracted three different solvent: hexane, ethyl acetate, ethanol. were evaluated cytotoxicity against MCF-7 cells MTT (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2-5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) assay. Antioxidant activities assessed based on free radical scavenging (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH)) ferric-reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assays. The phytochemical constituents identified liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-QTOF-MS) system. interaction epidermal growth factor 2 (HER2) protein achieved molecular docking PyRx-vina application protein-ligand complex visualization. hexane extract exhibited highest followed acetate ethanol (IC50 23.7 ± 2.0; 66.7 5.8 182.7 14.3 μg/mL). best sample DPPH 21.5 2.0 μg/mL) while most active FRAP value (14.5 1.3 μg gallic acid equivalent/g). Data LC-ESI-QTOF-MS allowed 21 compounds. showed that 12 could prevent tumors acting as inhibitors anti-apoptotic HER2 protein. has chemoprevention through its capacity inhibition More studies needed investigate efficacy

The spreading of COVID-19 has posed a risk to global health, especially for lung cancer patients. An investigation is needed overcome the challenges pathophysiology and disease. This study was designed evaluate phytoconstituents in Punica granatum peel (PGP), its anti-lung activity, silico evaluation antiviral potential. GC–MS technique used detect phytoconstituents. Cytotoxicity analyzed using MTT dye, followed by apoptosis, ROS generation, cell cycle phase detection human cells (A549). glide module Maestro software investigate molecular-docking interaction constituents against main protease (Mpro) papain-like (PLpro) SARS-CoV-2. GROMACS 2023.2 utilized complex stability. A total nineteen phytocomponents were detected PGP extract through analysis. shown potential reduce proliferation while evading normal death. induced apoptosis arresting G0/G1 generating ROS. six eight had high affinity PLpro Mpro proteins, respectively. top docked complex, ethyl 5-oxo-2-pyrrolidinecarboxylate, with showed likely stable throughout 100 ns simulation. finding raises possibility top-eight hits (docking score ≥ -1.0 kcal/mol) preventing SARS-CoV-2 severity. exhibited orally active drugs no more than one violation drug-likeness activity. are suggested be dual agents pathogenesis.
