It is well recognized that many plants contain substances with pharmacological activities, and there a large body of traditional knowledge regarding their use in different clinical situations. Yet, most physicians the Western world are reluctant to herbal preparations, mostly because no large-scale randomized controlled trials support application. In this Opinion Paper, which not intended be comprehensive review or medicine, we challenge approach propose treatments should added our armamentarium, even if cautiously. The accumulation of proteinaceous inclusions in the brain is a common feature among neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease (PD), and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). main neuropathological hallmark PD DLB are inclusions, known (LBs), enriched not only α-synuclein (aSyn), but also lipid species, organelles, membranes, even nucleic acids. Furthermore, several genetic risk factors for mutations genes involved metabolism, GBA1, VSP35, or PINK1. Mechanical peeling is more efficient and environmentally friendly compared to manual peeling. However, comparative studies on the quality of mechanically peeled pepper manually are limited. This study utilized GC-MS investigate effects immersion, steaming, machinery speed volatile composition white pepper. A total thirteen monoterpenes seven sesquiterpenes were detected, with 3-carene, D-limonene, sabinene being most abundant monoterpenoids β-caryophyllene, δ-elemene, α-copaene sesquiterpenes. The volatiles increased longer steaming times higher speeds. Compared or followed by mechanical peeling, content was when using alone. Additionally, relative odor activity values showed that 3-carene D-limonene main contributors flavor, key responsible for flavor distinctions. research aims provide theoretical support developing a superior method replace labor.

Background: Epilepsy is a prevalent neurological disorder, prompting an ongoing quest for new therapeutic agents. Sinapis alba, commonly known as yellow mustard, has garnered interest its potential medicinal properties. This study aimed to assess the anti-convulsant of alba in rats. Methods: Wistar albino rats were categorized into 5 distinct experimental groups (six each) : normal control, disease group administered seed oil (200mg/kg body weight), another given sodium valproate (300mg/kg and combination receiving both (150mg/kg weight each). Antioxidant markers subsequently extracted from brain samples, cresyl violet staining was employed discern pathological changes. Results: The findings revealed significant diminution durations flexion, clonic convulsion, stupor test, standard, contrast with control. Additionally, duration tonic hind limb extension (THLE) noted substantial decrease group, group. Moreover, administration led elevation antioxidant levels concomitant reduction lipid peroxide levels. Intriguingly, synergistic effect on generalized tonic-clonic seizures observed upon integrating mustard valproate. Conclusion: Our research suggests that extract demonstrates promising anti-epileptic properties stands supplementary drug managing seizures.

Background: Learning and memory are fundamental to the survival of human life. In view that, a relationship exists between age-related forgetfulness changes in sex hormone levels. Objectives: Respecting benefits cumin (Cuminum cyminum L.) for hormones, this study investigated effect hydroalcoholic extract (HAE) on learning gonadectomized (GDX) male Wistar rats. Methods: First, seeds were purchased identified by herbarium affiliated with Islamic Azad University (IAU), Qom branch, Qom, Iran. The was then extracted using Soxhlet apparatus, powder prepared drying oven. A total 48 rats (weighing 250 ± 50 g) divided into eight groups: normal group treated dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), three groups receiving HAE doses 25, 50, 100 mg/kg, GDX DMSO, mg/kg. Following surgical procedure remove both testes, intraperitoneal (IP) injections administered. Half an hour later, tasks conducted Shuttle box, step-through latency (STL) as standard index passive avoidance (PAL) recorded 10 minutes. data analyzed one-way analysis variance (ANOVA) Tukey's test. Summary Pepper is valued for its flavour and medicinal properties, but there a lack of comparative studies on the quality white pepper under different storage conditions, as well dynamic changes volatiles during storage. To investigate effects peeling packaging reveal volatiles, this study utilised HS‐SPME‐GC–MS to analyse conditions. A total 22 were detected, with α‐copaene, α‐terpineol, δ‐amorphene being predominant volatile distinctions, while γ‐terpinene distinctions.
