Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) exhibits a bidirectional relationship with periodontitis, wherein each condition influences the progression of other. Arachidonic acid (AA) exerts an anti-diabetic effect, while showing protective effect by regulating inflammatory response independently its metabolites. The mouse model was established combining high-sugar and high-fat diet streptozotocin injection, followed silk ligation to induce periodontitis.
