Background The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on young people’s (YP) mental health has been mixed. Systematic reviews to date have focused predominantly quantitative studies and lacked involvement from YP with lived experience difficulties. Therefore, our primary aim was conduct a qualitative systematic review examine perceived YP’s (aged 10–24) wellbeing across Europe. Methods findings We searched MEDLINE, PsycINFO, Embase, Web Science, MEDRXIV, OSF preprints, Google, voluntary sector websites for published 1 st January 2020 15 th November 2022. European were included if they reported data that could be extracted own perspectives their experiences related disruptions wellbeing. Screening, extraction appraisal conducted independently in duplicate by researchers difficulties (co-researchers). Confidence assessed using Evidence Reviews Qualitative Research (CERQual) approach. co-produced an adapted narrative thematic synthesis co-researchers. This study is registered PROSPERO, CRD42021251578. found 82 publications 77 unique synthesis. Most UK (n = 50; 65%); generated during first wave (March-May 2020; n 33; 43%). Across 79,491 participants, views, minoritised ethnicity sexual orientation, marginalised or vulnerable limited. Five synthesised themes identified: negative information restrictions wellbeing; education learning social connection prevent loneliness disconnection; emotional, lifestyle behavioural changes; support. Europe fluctuated pandemic. Challenges similar but coping strategies manage these challenges varied person, study, country. Abstract Researchers have begun to explore the characteristics and risk factors for autistic burnout, but assessment tools are lacking. Our study comprehensively examined compared psychometric properties of unpublished 27‐item AASPIRE Autistic Burnout Measure (ABM), personal work scales Copenhagen Inventory (CBI) evaluate their efficacy as screening measures with a group 238 adults. Exploratory factor analyses (EFA) revealed 4‐factor structure ABM 2‐factor CBI scale (CBI‐P). Factorial validity dimensionality were four exploratory models which indicated unidimensional an overarching ‘Autistic Burnout’ construct, multidimensional CBI‐P comprising two subscales ‘Personal construct. Other reliability indicators included Spearman correlations, analysis variance, receiver operating characteristics, sensitivity, specificity, intra‐class correlations (ICC). The strongly correlated depression, anxiety, stress, fatigue. Unexpectedly, between burnout camouflaging, wellbeing moderate. Potential overlap depression fatigue was through EFA, supported convergent measure, while ICC mixed results. We concluded that Emotional Exhaustion subscale valid preliminary burnout. Testing larger more diverse samples is required further examine ABM, understand relationships masking.
