Social presence, which refers to the psychological phenomenon of perceiving other persons in technology mediated communication as “real” and with whom one can connect, has gained an increasing interest by teachers researchers involved designing online, hybrid, blended learning environments, particularly group settings known computer-supported collaborative (CSCL). While some scholars attribute social presence primarily physical attributes media, others emphasize importance contextual individual factors. Despite considering these factors, they still cannot fully explain varying degrees experienced across different collaboration modes modalities. Consequently, there is a need for more comprehensive theoretical account on antecedents presence. In this article we propose such that integrates information processing (SIP) theory, construal level theory (CLT), telepresence into framework. line CLT, also influenced impressions (construals) construct from not only through accumulation messages over time but distance feel those persons, may be imposed features media or realities context. Further, sense being “present” remote virtual place, where salient “are.” This framework allows us understand while (pseudo) real-time asynchronous using variety ranging text-based (e.g., e-mail, instant text messaging) immersive 3D computer generated; place).

Abstract As diversity is increasing in higher education, the number of students with disabilities (SWD) grows. In parallel, technological development and online education change conditions for teaching learning. Previous research indicates that digitalisation provides both challenges opportunities equal participation. This study explores experiences SWD using Communities Inquiry model as a theoretical framework. A questionnaire 6256 (430 SWD) examines differences similarities between other courses.
