Early
science
learning
has
the
potential
to
enhance
children's
social
interaction
development,
but
a
lack
of
resources
in
schools
requires
well-structured
activities
and
supportive
environment.

helping
children
develop
an
interest
education
from
early
age,

Project-Based,
Technology-Enhanced
Science
Module
(PTBLM)
for
preschool
children,
fostering
their

This
study
investigates
how
Education
Outside
the
Classroom
(EOtC)
was
used
to
foster
inclusion
of
students
with
immigrant
backgrounds
into
class.
An
ethnographic
mixed-methods
design
used,
and
two
exemplary
stories
display
barriers
facilitators
in
a
rural
school
Germany.
The
findings
show
that
lack
language
proficiency
academic
social
overburdening
are
among
main
inclusion.
EOtC
approach
strong
focus
on
place
culture
responsivity,
other
hand,
offers
possibilities
for
participation
all
promising

more
inclusive
schools.

My Interests Are (Y)ours? A Multilevel Social Network Analysis of the Co-Evolution of Adolescents’ Interests and Friendships

peer
relations

adolescents

they
want
to
be
as
a
person.

knowledge
of

co-evolution
friendships
is
limited
studies
focusing
on
single
interest
domains
and/or
practices
predetermined
by
researchers.

total
1599
Dutch
participated
this
study,

unique
design

all
participant-defined
in-
out-of-school
friendships.

(EOtC)

support
students’
basic
psychological
needs,
i.e.,
their
need
for
competence,
autonomy,
and
relatedness
as
described
in
Self-Determination
Theory
(SDT).

framework
of
Ecological
Psychology
(EP)
applied
explicate
EOtC
teaching
settings
helped
students
become
effective,
agentic,
connected.

show
that
this
process

by
active
engagement
with
environmental
affordances
which
facilitated
embodied
experiences.
