Abstract Background The co-occurrence of depression and anxiety is relatively more common among adolescents. Emerging evidence suggests that adaptability might affect this phenomenon. Network analysis can provide insight into the dynamics between symptoms mental disorders. Therefore, we used network 1) to explore symptom networks 2) investigate association based on a longitudinal design. Methods 833 Chinese adolescents (449 males 384 female) were recruited, with adaptability, depressive measured at T1, 426 them followed up one year later T2. Symptom constructed for all participants two groups their scores T1. Furthermore, mediation was performed examine relationship bridge both timepoints. Results Irritable Guilty showed highest expected value T1 ( p < 0.05). high group’s (HGN) less connected than low (LGN) 0.001). (T1) (T2) sequential mediators 0.001) (T2). Conclusions These findings suggest dynamics, underscoring its importance occurrence being may indicate interventions target in comorbid anxiety.

Objective To explore the developmental trajectory of sleep disturbance in geriatric oncology inpatients and assess impact locomotive syndrome (LS) on this trajectory. Methods This longitudinal study enrolled 284 through convenience sampling from August 2023 to February 2024 at Oncology Center Affiliated Hospital Jiangnan University, Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China. Sleep quality was monitored for seven days following admission (T0-T6) using a wrist motion analyzer. The analyzed latent category growth model (LCGM). Patients were categorized into LS group (n=177) non-LS (n=107) based 25-question Geriatric Locomotive Function Scale (GLFS-25). Comparisons made between two groups regarding distribution trajectories. Results Three potential categories development identified: non-sleep disturbance, improvement, persistence. lowest observed second day after (T2). In group, 40 cases (37.4%) experienced no 45 (42.1%) showed 22 (20.6%) persistence disturbance. 32 (18.1%) 50 (28.2%) 95 (53.7%) exhibited persistent Significant differences found ( P <0.001). Conclusions is prevalent inpatients, with an incidence 74.6% (212/284), most severe third admission. exhibit lower overall higher likelihood disturbances.

Insomnia and depression, both significantly impacting public health, are common psychosomatic illnesses that frequently co-occur in the same individual. Not only do these two conditions commonly co-occur, but they also exhibit a bidirectional link, where existence of one may heighten risk for other. Latest research offers compelling evidence significant overlap biological, psychological, sociological aspects comorbidity insomnia depression. Building on this, we aim to examine pathophysiology along with their comorbid mechanisms, encompassing biological routes (like genetics, HPA axis, immune-inflammatory activation, neuroendocrine regulation, microbiome alterations, neural circuits integrating sleep emotion regulation), as well psychosocial routes. Consequently, proposing self-perpetuating mutually reinforcing “snowball effect” model examining corresponding preventative intervention strategies rectify associated imbalances. Finally, this article encapsulates challenges field study directions future research. paper points out limitations current (cross-sectional data being dominant, mechanism multi-omics dynamics unknown) direction (longitudinal cohort combined computational modeling resolve temporal interactions), which will provide theoretical basis precision interventions.

Objective Sleep issues, negative emotions, and health conditions are commonly co-occurring, whereas their associations among healthcare students have yet to be elucidated. This study aimed examine whether anxiety depression mediate the relationship between sleep quality subjective well-being in students. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted Chinese ( N = 348). battery of paper-and-pencil questionnaires—the Quality Questionnaire (SQQ), World Health Organization-Five Well-Being Index (WHO-5), Patient Questionnaire-4 (PHQ-4) were applied. Descriptive analysis with means (standard deviations) counts (proportions), Spearman correlation SQQ, WHO-5, PHQ-4, mediation via structural equation models performed. Results Correlation revealed statistically significant quality, depression, Mediation identified that poor produced relatively low levels self-reported well-being, which entirely attributable depression. Conclusion associated this interrelationship fully mediated by Interventions at promoting may contribute reducing
