Neuroglia of the central nervous system, represented by astroglia, oligodendroglia and microglia, are fundamental for life-long support homeostasis, plasticity defence neural tissue. In particular neuroglial cells contribute to cognitive reserve, which defines neurological outcome both physiological pathological ageing. Physiological ageing is accompanied with structural functional decline neuroglia. particular, astrocytes undergo morphological atrophy asthenia compromises their vital functions such as glutamate clearance, K+ buffering synaptic support. Old oligodendrocytes lose myelination capacity, results in thinning myelin sheath white matter. Finally, associated accumulation dystrophic microglia limits neuroprotection. Age-dependent impedes contributes impairment, increases vulnerability system neurodegeneration. Life style changes positively impact on structure function this improving longevity. Life events are important risk factors for negative psychology such as depression and anxiety. However, individuals who experienced the same life might not necessarily develop mental health problems. Some inherent psychological qualities among may determine their status under events. Physical activity is beneficial to physical health. What combined effect of on individual anxiety, whether it can alleviate induced by events, at present, there no relevant research report. To systematically analyze college students related mediating mechanism. Guided a series hypotheses, study conducted cross-sectional survey level, event experience, vulnerability, anxiety 3552 Chinese students. Objectives: Promoting resilience and embracing healthy coping strategies can effectively assist nursing students in managing stress enhancing their welfare. Nonetheless, a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing well-being resilience, pivotal for both academic accomplishments future career longevity, remains incomplete. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive correlational design was adopted this study. Participants comprised enrolled pre-registration programs at undergraduate graduate levels. The World Health Organization-5 Well-Being Index 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale were utilized to assess psychological respectively. Results: study involved 175 university selected through convenience sampling. On Scale, average score 25.5, with scoring an 25.4 26.3, Nevertheless, two groups had no statistically significant difference ( p = 0.526). Regarding perceived well-being, 16.1, noticeable distinction between undergraduates postgraduates 0.858). Notably, bivariate analysis revealed moderate positive correlation self-reported rp 0.281, 0.001). Moreover, senior exhibited significantly higher scores on scale than junior (17.0 vs 15.1, 0.010). Multivariable regression also identified that represents consistent means predicting (regression coefficient B 0.22, < Conclusions: outcomes indicate university-based who exhibit levels have more perceptions well-being. postgraduate students.

Brain-derived neurotrophic factor is a key in stress adaptation and avoidance of social behavioral response. Recent studies have shown that brain-derived expression stressed mice brain region–specific, particularly involving the corticolimbic system, including ventral tegmental area, nucleus accumbens, prefrontal cortex, amygdala, hippocampus. Determining how participates processing different regions will deepen our understanding psychopathology. In this review, we discuss regulation stress-sensitive closely related to pathophysiology depression. We focused on associated molecular pathways neural circuits, with special attention factor–tropomyosin receptor kinase B signaling pathway area–nucleus accumbens dopamine circuit. determined stress-induced alterations levels are likely nature, severity, duration stress, especially above-mentioned system. Therefore, BDNF might be biological indicator regulating stress-related processes various regions.

Background Latin American youth have a high prevalence of mental health disorders and face major socioeconomic public safety problems. This study assesses the association between stressful life events (SLEs) depression, anxiety, quality among adolescents young adults from deprived neighbourhoods America. Methods The sample consisted 2,402 participants, (15–16 years) (20–24 years), Bogotá (Colombia), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Lima (Peru), assessed in 2021–2022 recruited education community settings social media. We evaluated most frequent recent distant SLEs (occurred previous year more than ago, respectively), relationship severity depression (PHQ-8), anxiety (GAD-7), (MANSA), we tested for differences by gender age group. Results common were related to issues financial distress. Accidents school suspensions men, sexual harassment bullying women. Every additional reported SLE increased odds mild, moderate, severe (18, 17, 25%, respectively) (10, 21%, symptoms. Similar trends found with (8, 9, 11% symptoms, (9, 11, 12%, respectively). Furthermore, higher number associated lower ( β = −0.05, p < 0.001, 95% CI [−0.06, −0.04] −0.04, [−0.05, −0.03], distress seems stronger one SLEs, may impact on adolescents’ compared adults. Conclusion Both are life. Policies programmes should aim enhance safety, as well improve individual, family, protective factors that could mitigate effect youth.

Medical students are especially due their high exposure stressors, requiring enhanced resilience cope with academic challenges. This study measured the effectiveness of near-peer mentoring program in terms resilience. Methods A non-randomised controlled trial was conducted at Semmelweis University involving 133 medical students. The case group ( n = 94) comprised who participated as mentors or mentees. control 39) did not participate mentoring. Data collected two points, 5 months apart, semester’s start (August 2022) end (February 2023). Background: This research aimed to investigate the mediating and moderating effects of psychological resilience (PR) on association between childhood trauma (CT) development depression. Methods: study included 94 cases who consecutively applied outpatient psychiatry clinic Rize Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Training Research Hospital in Turkey 1 June 2023 December were diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). In addition, 83 healthy individuals (control group) also included. Participants administered Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HDRS), Resilience for Adults (RSA), Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ). Results: context this research, effect PR CT depression was investigated. When examining role depression, it found that statistically significantly influenced disease severity directly (B = 0.158, SE 0.0398, z 3.98, p < 0.001, 95% CI [0.0759, 0.232]), while indirectly through 0.193, 0.028, 6.88, [0.1343, 0.244]). It revealed mediated depressive symptoms partially. Conclusions: demonstrates has a relationship MDD. These results provide new contributions existing literature. Interventions increase may positively contribute treatment patients MDD have suffered from CT.

Empathy, the ability to understand and respond others' emotional experiences, is often regarded as a universally positive trait. However, its role in psychological adjustment following adversity more complex. The current study examined relationships between empathy - measured globally through (compassionate concern) negative (callousness) dimensions three outcomes of stress or trauma: depressive symptoms, resilience, posttraumatic growth (PTG). College students (N = 403) completed online surveys assessing these variables, with controls for age, sex, personality traits. Hierarchical regression analyses showed that global were positively associated PTG, indicating empathy's fostering personal relational growth. also predicted reflecting potential heighten vulnerability distress. Negative was inversely related PTG but unrelated symptoms resilience. Resilience demonstrated weaker links empathy, instead aligning closely traits like extraversion conscientiousness. These findings highlight dual impact, where it can contribute while increasing susceptibility Future research should explore cognitive affective components develop strategies minimize effects enhancing adaptive PTG.
