Forgiveness, a process of relinquishment resentment, hostility, and anger toward an offender or self, is understudied among people living with HIV. This study examined the experience forgiving person who allegedly transmitted HIV, In-depth interviews were conducted 14 HIV aged 25 older, diagnosed at least three years before study. Three main themes emerged: "Anger poison": between forgiveness unforgiveness; "I gave up drive to suffer": meaning forgiveness; "Forgiving like building building": phases unforgiveness. revealed cognitive emotional processes forgiveness. Background The lives of adolescents and young people living with HIV (LHIV) are dominated by complex psychological social stressors. These may be more pronounced among those perinatally infected. This longitudinal mixed-methods study describes the clinical psychosocial challenges faced infected mothers in Harare, Zimbabwe to inform tailored support. Methods were recruited 2013 followed up 2019. In 2013, they completed a structured interview, examination, screening had viral load drug resistance testing. A subset in-depth interviews (n = 10). 2019, re-interviewed Data analyzed using STATA 15.0. thematic analysis. Results Nineteen aged 17–24 years 2013. Eleven (57.9%) successfully recontacted 2019; 3 died, 2 relocated untraceable. all 19 taking antiretroviral therapy (median duration 8 years, range 2–11 years) median CD4 count was 524 (IQR 272). eight (42.1%) virological failure (≥1000 copies/ml) (3 whom subsequently died) 7 (36.8%) evidence resistance. proportion 2/11 (18.1%). Young women living with HIV (YWLHIV) experience numerous stressors including treatment management and poor parent modelling. We investigated YWLHIV's mental health other clinical social characteristics to inform tailored support. YWLHIV (15-24 years old) participating in a peer-support model for young mothers (Young Mentor Mum intervention) completed self-administered interview had psychological assessments March April 2019. A subset participated in-depth interviews their partners interviewed. analysed quantitative qualitative data using STATA 15 thematic analysis, respectively. enrolled 177 YWLHIV. found high rates of maternal viral suppression (86.9% load <1000 copies/ml). Over half were at risk common disorder (CMD), scoring above the cut-off point (SSQ ≥8, 50.3%) depression (EPDS ≥12, 55.9%). CMD was higher among who reported intimate partner violence past year (64.1% vs 39.4%; adjusted OR 2.48 (1.12, 5.48) 1-2 times 2.41 (0.99-5.85) frequency; p = .03). status disclosure limited; only 44.1% disclosed partners. confront challenges which affect that children. ABSTRACT Aim This study aims to develop dynamic networks and examine the longitudinal relationships of mental health symptoms among persons living with HIV (PLWH). Design A study. Methods We collected data between October 2022 December using Wenjuanxing (Questionnaire Star), an online survey platform. The tracked weekly across 10 sessions, involving 123 PLWH in Beijing, China. total 40 six dimensions (somatization symptoms, negative affect, cognitive processes, function, interpersonal communication social adaptation) were included symptom network, which consists temporal, contemporaneous between‐person networks. Results In temporal ‘feeling inferior others’ had largest in‐strength value, whereas ‘suicidal ideation’ exhibited out‐strength value. showed highest bridge strength, indicating it most connections other symptoms. Leaving nobody behind in the fight to end HIV epidemic as a public health threat depends on addressing inequities optimal outcomes. Consistently overlooked research, policy and programming are young lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning intersex (LGBTQI+) people who living with HIV. This study engaged LGBTQI+ Zimbabwe better understand their experiences of support they need. Between September 2022 February 2023, we conducted qualitative research 14 (18–24 years), (two focus group discussions in-depth interviews 5/14). All participants were accessing at Zvandiri (‘As I Am’), well-established community-based program. We thematic analysis key findings informed collaborative development internal activities further enhance inclusivity within Zvandiri’s programs. There was consensus among that being leads “double stigma double trouble” , involving physical verbal harassment, social exclusion family rejection. Participants concealed identity status most situations, many withheld spaces, including community-led services. negatively impacted psychosocial well-being connectedness. described positive Zvandiri. The aim of the present study was to explore stigma and fear getting sick in health professionals who treat people living with HIV. An exploratory systematic review conducted. search limited presence on part healthcare workers HIV, documented by or patients themselves. Introduction Sub-Saharan Africa bears the greatest burden of HIV, with comorbid mental conditions highly prevalent in people living HIV. Internal stigma (negative judgements towards oneself) continues to be a barrier HIV treatment, management and care, has global public health consequences. People living with (PLHIV) who report internal are less likely seek adhere treatment can experience increased depression lower quality of life. The Wakakosha (‘You’re Worth It’) programme sought reduce among young PLHIV using inquiry-based stress reduction (IBSR), cognitive awareness-based methodology. This sub-study focused on creativity, exploring how it promotes PLHIV’s well-being. We analysed individual interviews (n = 14), focus groups 3), poems 5), songs 2) self-compassion letters 38) 23 activity journals from November 2021 March 2022, utilising inductive thematic analysis identify themes across the data. Creativity saturated intervention through modalities such as drawing, colouring, body mapping, music letter writing. These engaged participants gave them space in which shift their stigmatising beliefs, helped multiple ways including: facilitating emotional regulation, self-acceptance, self-compassion, self-worth positivity. also enhanced participants’ self-image allowed see own abilities. Abstract Youth living in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) have an increased vulnerability to mental illnesses, with many lacking access adequate treatment. There has been a growing body of interventions using task sharing trained peer leaders address this health gap. This scoping review examines the characteristics, effectiveness, components delivery challenges peer-led for youth aged 10–24 LMICs. A key term search strategy was employed across MEDLINE, Embase, Web Science, Global Health Index Medicus. Eligibility criteria included young people component delivered any setting LMIC. Study selection extraction were conducted independently by first second authors, discrepancies resolved senior author. characteristics summarised presented descriptively. The identified 5,358 citations, 19 studies included. 14 quantitative, four qualitative one mixed methods study reporting outcomes. Types heterogenous but fell within three broad categories: (1) education psychoeducation, (2) psychotherapy counselling (3) support. All reported improved outcomes as result interventions.
