The hotel industry in Iran faces critical challenges that underscore the urgent need for sustainable practices, specifically realms of energy, water, and food. Despite growth, a mere three percent hotels fall into five- four-star categories, emphasizing widespread adoption practices. Focused on Ramsar Mazandaran, study underscores importance eco-friendly strategies to tackle related food–water–energy nexus. Employing SCOC, Fuzzy BWM, Z-MARCOS methods, research proposes robust framework evaluating development strategies. case reveals concentration Khorasan Razavi, Tehran, urging prioritization practices these regions. Analyzing Ramsar’s climate, suggests leveraging solar energy implementing green roofs, an integrated approach achieve construction. Furthermore, provides prioritized set based aligning with criteria regarding water–energy–food It emphasizes internal strengths, opportunities, strategic technology partnerships while acknowledging external such as political stability climate change risks. discussion introduces Importance–Performance Analysis (IPA) guide managerial decisions, presenting insightful perspective effective strategy implementation Iran’s evolving industry.

In Africa, coping with the growing pressure of resource demand due to fast population growth and socio-economic development remains one major challenges 21st century. By 2050, energy water are projected rise by 80% 55%, respectively, while meet food demand, agricultural production needs approximately 50% more than in 2017. As continent continues skyrocket, these shifts threaten water-energy-food-ecosystem (WEFE) security, dangering their access availability. The region exhibits minimal performance WEFE, mainly because expertise insecurity sectors. However, WEFE nexus has emerged as a new technique address challenging situations Africa. This research become necessary effectively security impartiality management. Therefore, applying strategy, prioritizing coexisting water, energy, resources, embraces possibility enhancing entire scenery paper examines current scenario through multidisciplinary viewpoints, identifying main issues potential solutions. findings from this study show that virtually half people starving, about 20% malnourished, 47% lack electricity, 36% cannot provide basic amenities. Hence, provides valuable insights for researchers, policymakers, experts working towards sustainable Achieving involves combined arrangements exploit synergies alleviate trade-offs. Abstract The water-energy-food (WEF) nexus is a concept and approach to examine the interactions of water, energy, food resources. Similarly, compound risks are set risk types that consider multiple connected factors amplify risks. While both concepts promoted as approaches move beyond silos address complex problems in environmental governance, there has been limited exploration their overlap. Our study integrates these two for more holistic assessment management resources context climate We connections between WEF ways. First, we review literature identify previous conceptual Second, seven case studies with how might be considered practice. results demonstrate limited, though not non-existent, integration theoretical studies. four cases do show some level connection practice opportunities greater future, such leveraging water sector bridge challenges together.

Agriculture is the principal source for satisfying growing global demand food. However, current production patterns and socioeconomic demographic pressures could lead to an unsustainable, inequitable food supply. Government interventions support technical advances designed meet future needs following international trends while overcoming biophysical constraints. Those most often used are focused on augmenting land productivity through mechanisation increased dependence external inputs. To that end, public policies have emerged as engines of development in agriculture agri-food system. This article provides a chronological analysis relevant milestones sector Ecuador (1960–2020). At first, agrarian reform distribution tenure. Subsequently, focus moved implementation research, technological innovation technology transfer programmes promoted by state with financing from organisations. For this article, we chose our approach water–energy–food nexus. Until now, insufficient study based regarding agricultural has been conducted Ecuador. It essential concentrate because it represents about 10% gross domestic product employment more than two-thirds economically active population rural areas. fractioning, lack project continuity application packages identified suggest need rethink sustainable
