Trachyandra divaricata (Sandkool) is one of the most abundant wild edible inflorescence vegetables in South Africa. The dearth literature on its edibility, nutrient composition, and conservation has contributed to underutilisation. This study investigated mineral proximate content, phytochemical compositions, growth response T. light intensity soilless media. Treatments comprised four media (LECA clay, silica sand, peat, vermiculite) which were subjected different shade levels (no shade, 20, 40, 60, 80%) created from a factory-made 20% density net by doubling (40%), tripling (60%), quadrupling (80%). All treatments irrigated with standard solution. results showed that impacted yield significantly terms biomass flower buds, especially plants cultivated peat under normal greenhouse lighting shade). Conversely, developed more specific leaf size total chlorophyll content (20, media, even though values comparable among treatments. highest Ca, Mg, Cu, Fe, Mn consistently recorded flowers grown LECA clay 80% level, while other minerals varied tested medium optimised neutral detergent fibre (NDF) acid (ADF) flowers, whereas both fat protein contents greatly enhanced vermiculite, respectively, shade. Consistently, lowest polyphenols DPPH antioxidants produced sand treated Both TEAC FRAP improved no 60% level. However, flavonol significantly. On basis these findings, promising inflorescent vegetable may be considered for domestication further research due potential pharmacological nutraceutical values.

Salinity stress is a type of abiotic which negatively affects the signaling pathways and cellular compartments plants. Melatonin (MT) has been found to be bioactive compound that can mitigate these adverse effects, makes it necessary understand function MT its role in salt stress. During this study, plants were treated exogenously with 100 µM for 7 days subjected 200 mM stress, samples collected after 1 different indicators transcriptome analysis. The results showed reduced chlorophyll contents damaged chloroplast structure, was confirmed by downregulation key genes involved photosynthesis pathway analysis qRT-PCR confirmation. Meanwhile, increased contents, electrolyte leakage, protected structure during upregulating several genes. also decreased H2O2 level ascorbic acid APX activity as analyses. Transcriptome profiling 321 441 DEGs expressed treatment, respectively. KEGG enrichment 76 pathway, while 35 metabolism These suggest exogenous application provides important insight into understanding MT-induced stress-responsive mechanisms protecting Brassica campestris against regulating

Microgreens are vegetable greens that harvested early while they still immature and have just developed cotyledons. One of the disadvantages a challenge in production is exhibit short shelf life may be damaged easily. In seeking to prolong life, some pre- postharvest interventions been investigated. Here, kale mustard microgreens were grown controlled-environment walk-in chamber at +21/17 °C, with ~65% relative air humidity, maintaining spectral composition deep red 61%, blue 20%, white 15%, far 4% (150, 200, 250 µmol m

There is a severe need to develop sustainable, affordable, and nutritious food supply system. Broccoli microgreens have attracted attention due their rich nutritional content abundant bioactive compounds, constituting an important opportunity feed the ever-increasing population fight global health problems. This study aimed measure impact of combined application biofertilizers zinc iron nanofertilizers on plant growth biofortification glucosinolates (GLSs) micronutrients in broccoli microgreens. Biofertilizers were based growth-promoting (PGP) bacterial consortia previously isolated characterized for multiple PGP traits. Nanofertilizers consisted ZnO (77 nm) γ-Fe
