Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) is a promising oilseed crop with potential applications in the food, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors. Understanding oil content fatty acid composition of safflower germplasm crucial for breeding programs aimed at enhancing its agronomic nutritional traits. This study assessed 87 accessions. Significant variations were observed, ranging from 36.88% to 18.44%. Genotype Egypt 1 exhibited highest content. Among acids, China had myristic (0.170%) content, while Remzibey lowest (0.100%). Palmitic ranged 6.13% 8.20%, 3 Bangladesh extremes. For palmitoleic acid, Jordan 5 (0.53%) 2/Portugal 2 (0.03%). Linoleic varied 37.7% (China 7) 77.73% (Iran 1). A correlation analysis indicated strong positive correlations between protein as well palmitic linoleic acids. Conversely, highly negative myristic, palmitic, The percentage showed high heritability but low genetic advance, percentage, stearic oleic moderate advance mean. These findings can aid developing cultivars enhanced quality, value, facilitating sustainable production wide range applications.

Chestnut (Castanea sativa Mill.), a valuable fruit crop, is cultivated in small areas Romania, mostly the west, where moderate continental climate has slight Mediterranean influence. Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) is a promising oilseed crop for cultivation in central Southern Italy due to its high tolerance drought and salinity stress appreciable seed oil yields. The genetic diversity of cultivars climate factors can affect fatty acid composition yield traits. This study aimed assess the effects genotype conditions on productive performance eight oleic safflower genotypes under rainfed Sicily (Italy). These were compared Montola 2000 cultivar, which was used as reference. Tests carried out during growing seasons 2014-2015 2015-2016. experimental design randomized complete block with three replications. Morphological components significantly affected by while year had significant effect plant height only. In general, CTI 17 produced highest (1.40 t ha-1) (0.58 ha-1). content found 40.2% dry matter, average. "genotype" factor composition. Climate variability is a major challenge concerning food security; therefore, there need for pragmatic solutions to improve agricultural production. Henceforth, this study was planned optimize the planting time of exotic safflowers under prevailing conditions in Faisalabad, Pakistan. A executed by employing split-plot design with six safflower accessions and five sowing dates ranging from 31 October 2019 December 2019. The results experimental accession PI-198990 produced significant seed yields (2432 kg ha−1, 2772 ha−1 2366 ha−1) when sown on 30 November 2019, 15 respectively. On other hand, PI-208677 PI-250187 were best performers, However, higher achene oil percentage (31.5% 30.8%) noted PI-314650 highest oleic acid content (22.92% 22.83%) determined planted respectively, whereas linoleic observed Stability analysis showed that PI-210834 most stable all environments, followed PI-314650. Correlation negative correlation phenological traits growing degree days, yield strong positive relationship heads, yield, biological thousand weight, harvest index.

Future climates will realise increasingly frequent extreme weather events, which impact on the quantum and quality of crop production. While effects heat production have been well studied hitherto, there remains a dearth knowledge pertaining to impacts grain quality. As such, our purpose here was evaluate terminal stress physicochemical properties composition seed oil safflower plants. Using two contemporary cultivars with varying genetic tolerance (Faraman Sofeh), we found that exposure reduced yield by 53–57%. Four fatty acids (palmitic, stearic, oleic linoleic acid) comprised 96–99% total acid methyl esters; relative varied in response other environmental conditions. In first experimental year (2017-18), saturated Sofeh Faraman increased 69% 18% respectively, while unsaturated decreased 9% 4%, respectively. second (2018-19), 10% less than 1% Farman, both were not significantly altered. Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) is an underestimated and multipurpose crop resistant to environmental stresses. Its oil presents useful chemical–physical properties, potentially exploitable for industrial purposes as a bio-based lubricant. In this work safflower was applied less toxic alternative mineral-based hydraulic fluids. The extracted partially refined the antioxidant tert-buthylhydroquinone (THBQ) added at two concentrations (0.25 3.00 mg kg−1). Efficiency tests of obtained were carried out using experimental test rig capable simulating real system performing severe short-duration cycles with aim strongly accelerating ageing tested oil. Oil performance verified by monitoring parameters, which correlated main lubricant properties through sensor detection laboratory analysis in parallel. results indicated that behaved well both THBQ showed good technical (operating pressure temperature; flowrate transmitted power), though higher concentration necessary protect oil’s from worsening. fact, allowed be extended 270 h, improvement compared 150 h achieved lower concentration. Finally, use agricultural seems feasible would contribute toward sustainability whole rotation prospective valuable circular economy.

Abstract Plant growth regulators (PGRs) play important roles in seedling growth, yield, and other parameters plants. These PGRs include kinetin (K) salicylic acid (SA). The aim of this study was to investigate the effects (K SA) their different application methods (foliar spray seed priming) on safflower ( Carthamus tinctorius L.) field conditions. present conducted both 2022 2023 years as four independent experiments (seed priming with K, foliar SA, SA). Yağışa dayalı, bitkisel üretim yapılan alanlarda sınırlı su kaynağını etkin kullanabilecek veya ürün rotasyonun da yer alabilecek tarla bitkilerine ihtiyaç bulunmaktadır. Bu kapsamda, Kırşehir ilinde aspir (Carthamus tinctorius L.) özellikle Mucur ilçesinde rotasyon ürünü olarak almaktadır. araştırmanın amacı; ili Merkez ve Boztepe, Çiçekdağı, Kaman ilçeleri tarlalarında bulunan yabancı ot türlerinin, yaygınlık yoğunluklarının belirlenmesidir. alanlarında 2023 2024 Haziran-Ağustos ayları içerisinde yürütülen araştırma alanlarını temsil edebilecek şekilde toplam 62 nokta 80 tesadüfen seçilmiştir. Yabancı sayımları 1m x ebatlarında kare çerçeve kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Sayımlar alan otların türleri dikkate alınmış sonuçlar değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda, yılında 7 tür monokotiledon 25 dikotiledon olmak üzere 14 familyaya dahil 32 türü belirlenmiştir. Poaceae familyası ile (%21.8) en fazla içeren familya Convolvulus arvensis L. (%80.0), Hordeum vulgare (%73.33), Polygonum aviculare Salsola kali (%66.66) yaygın türlerdir. 16 ait tespit edilmiştir. vejetasyon döneminde Asteraceae (%26.67), (%20) olmuştur. Chenopodium album (%75.0), (% 62.5) türler saptanmıştır. sonucu dönemlerinde soruna neden olan 43 belirlenmiş olup bu türlerin yaygınlığı yoğunlukları ortaya konmuştur.
