This study aimed to investigate the protective effects of Rosemary ethanol extract (ROEE) on testicular damage induced by potassium Dichromate (PDC) in male rats regarding signaling pathway Nrf2 and its target genes proteins. A total 28 were divided into four groups: control, PDC only (15 mg/kg b.w. orally), + low dose ROEE (220 b.w.), high (440 b.w.). After days consecutive treatment, sacrificed for histological, immunohistochemistry, biochemical analyses. The results revealed that treatment up-regulated (NQO1, HO-1) mRNA expressions compared group. correspondingly, protein levels GCLM, GSH, SOD, catalase significantly increased ROEE-treated animals PDC-treated animals. Furthermore, administration led serum testosterone (T4) decreased estrogen (E2) Semen analysis histopathology demonstrated improved spermatological impairment caused PDC. immunoexpression cytoplasmic HSP-90 was reduced groups, while expression androgen receptor (AR) markedly improved. exhibited against PDC-induced damage, likely due antioxidant properties. However, further investigation is required elucidate underlying mechanisms action.

Salinity, one of the major abiotic stresses in plants, significantly hampers germination, photosynthesis, biomass production, nutrient balance, and yield staple crops. To mitigate impact such stress without compromising quality, sustainable agronomic practices are required. Among these practices, seaweed extracts (SWEs) microbial biostimulants (PGRBs) have emerged as important categories plant (PBs). This research aimed at elucidating effects on growth, yield, status two Greek tomato landraces (‘Tomataki’ ‘Thessaloniki’) following treatments with Ascophyllum nodosum extract ‘Algastar’ PGPB ‘Nitrostim’ formulation. Plants were subjected to bi-weekly applications supplied solutions: 0.5 mM (control) 30 NaCl. The results revealed that different mode(s) action PBs impacted tolerance landraces, since ‘Tomataki’ was benefited only from SWE application while ‘Thessaloniki’ showed significant increase fruit numbers average weight both NaCl root zone. In conclusion, induced by salinity can be mitigated increasing through PBs, a tool for productivity enhancement, which aligns well strategy European Green Deal.

Plant biostimulants are used to promote plant growth by increasing tolerance abiotic stressors and improving the efficiency of natural resource use. In present two-year research (2022–2023 2023–2024), effects biostimulant foliar applications on morphological parameters, fresh dry yields, antioxidant capacity, total phenolic content, chemical composition essential oil thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.) were studied. For this purpose, four commercial biostimulants, Biostimol Plus + Peptamin-V Plus®, Acadian MPE®, Megafol®, BlueN®, evaluated cultivated in field conditions. The experiment was laid out a randomized block design with five treatments three replications. During second growing season, plants treated composed bacteria Methylobacterium symbioticum SB23, showed highest weight (152.1 g plant−1), biomass yield (501.9 m−2), (172.2 m−2). BlueN® that also obtained both years (0.47 0.53%), for all amount thymol carvacrol increased year, especially Megafol® (63.75 3.16%). capacity enhanced year according ABTS assay, but particular, BPPVP (26.97 μmol/g 25.01 μmol/g), while content higher first (65.98 mg GAE/g Extract). other had less intense effects. conclusion, influenced some characteristics oil, greatest influencers BPPVP.

Salt stress is a major abiotic stressor that limits plant growth, development, and agricultural productivity, especially in regions with high soil salinity. With the increasing salinization of soils due to climate change, developing salt-tolerant crops has become essential for ensuring food security. This review consolidates recent advances genetics, transcription factors (TFs), next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies are pivotal enhancing salt tolerance crops. It highlights critical genes involved ion homeostasis, osmotic adjustment, signaling pathways, which contribute resilience under saline conditions. Additionally, specific TF families, such as DREB, NAC (NAM, ATAF, CUC), WRKY, explored their roles activating salt-responsive gene networks. By leveraging NGS technologies-including genome-wide association studies (GWASs) RNA (RNA-seq)-this provides insights into complex genetic basis tolerance, identifying novel regulatory networks underpin adaptive responses. Emphasizing integration tools, research, NGS, this presents comprehensive framework accelerating development crops, contributing sustainable agriculture saline-prone areas.

ABSTRACT The use of biostimulants in agriculture provides a sustainable and efficient technology to improve resource‐use efficiency. Biostimulants may boost vegetative growth, enhancing plant tolerance biotic abiotic stress. tomato ( Solanum lycopersicum L.) is sensitive drought stress, particularly during fruit setting development stages. In Italy, long‐storage genotypes characterised by resistance were selected. this 2‐year study, the foliar application different (betaine, seaweed extracts, vegetal protein hydrolysate animal hydrolysate) was evaluated determine effects on yield quality local landrace (Pizzutello) cultivated Sicily without irrigation. highest dry matter (9.9%) solid soluble content (6.9° Brix) observed plants treated with betaine. Plants A. nodosum or showed potassium concentrations, whereas those supplied had calcium concentrations. Tomato betaine found have nitrate marketable (13.8 t ha −1 ) recorded hydrolysate, an increase 17.4% compared control plants. unmarketable (1.1 ‐1 ). conclusion, we can say that each biostimulant effect parameters analysed. Overall, has improved productivity limited water conditions. Our results highlight potential applications optimise both renowned varieties. This study demonstrated improvement agronomic performance Pizzutello tomato, which significant not only response growing consumer demand for high‐quality traditional tomatoes, but also enhancement technological traits valued food industry.
