Introduction Agriculture faces significant challenges in ensuring global food security while minimizing resource costs and environmental impacts. The development of digital infrastructure offers transformative potential for agricultural systems aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This study examines role enhancing grain production capacity China, a key player system. Methods We analyzed data from 277 prefecture-level cities China 2011 to 2021. A double machine learning model was employed empirically assess impact on capacity, allowing robust insights into causal relationships. Results reveal that significantly enhances production. Mechanism analysis results indicate construction drives technological advancements farmland scale, contributing increased capacity. Heterogeneity show is major grain-producing regions central-eastern regions, its effects are relatively limited production-consumption balanced main consumption western regions. Agriculture plays a key role in deciding the economy of country and agricultural marketing has become potential driver sector. Green revolution succeeding technologies made our farmers to succeed production front, but lagging appreciably terms price realization owing their inability stop post-harvest losses inaccessibility efficient scientific system. Post-harvest management includes storage, packaging, coating, disease management, extended shelf life, maintaining food quality. Foods other products can be preserved by storage at low temperature, which retards activities microorganisms preserve perishable foods natural state. Preservation depends on time required whether short or long-term type product. A cold unit works two principles: Vapour absorption system (VAS), compression (VCS). Although VAS is bit costlier, economical operation.
