The mechanisms governing gene regulation in domestic Yuzhong pigeon breast muscle development remain largely elusive. Here, we conducted a comparative analysis using Iso-seq and RNA-seq data from pigeons European meat to uncover signaling pathways genes involved development. yielded 131,377,075 subreads, resulting 16,587 non-redundant high-quality full-length transcripts post-correction. Furthermore, utilizing pfam, CPC, PLEK, CPAT, predicted 5575, 4973, 2333, 4336 lncRNAs, respectively. Notably, several potentially implicated were identified, including tropomyosin beta chain, myosin regulatory light chain 2, binding protein C. KEGG enrichment revealed critical development, spanning carbon metabolism, biosynthesis of amino acids, glycolysis/gluconeogenesis, estrogen signaling, PI3K-AKT processing the endoplasmic reticulum, oxidative phosphorylation, pentose phosphate pathway, fructose mannose tight junctions. These findings offer insights into biological processes driving pigeon, contributing our understanding this complex phenomenon.

This study compares the nutritional profiles of Yuzhong and European meat pigeons to inform breeding consumer choices. Thirty 28-day-old were analyzed for protein, fat, moisture, amino acids, fatty trace elements in breast muscle samples. No significant differences found or essential acid levels between breeds. However, showed higher umami monounsaturated acids (particularly oleic acid), (copper, iron, zinc, selenium). In contrast, richer polyunsaturated such as linoleic acid, arachidonic DHA. These results highlight distinctions breeds, providing guidance programs offering insights consumers seeking specific dietary attributes poultry meat.

Pigeon meat is highly nutritious, offering medicinal benefits, and often valued as a tonic due to its high protein low-fat content. With advancements in breeding technology evolving market demands, the quality flavor characteristics of pigeon have become key areas interest for researchers consumers. In recent years, extensive research on traits, has been conducted both domestically internationally, enhance production efficiency product meet needs while also providing theoretical support technical guidance industry development. This review explores under-standing genetic non-genetic factors that influence quality, focusing candidate gene markers guide strategies quality. For instance, studies identified several genes associated with These include ATP binding cassette subfamily member 8 (Abca8b), von willebrand factor (VWF), oxoglutarate dehydrogenase (OGDH), TGF beta induced homeobox 1 (TGIF1), dickkopf WNT signaling pathway inhibitor 3 (DKK3), glutamine-fructose-6-phosphate transaminase (Gfpt1) replication C subunit 5 (RFC5) which skeletal muscle development, fatty acid (FABP1), heart-type FABP (H-FABP), diacylglycerol acyltransferase 2 (DGAT2) impact intramuscular fat Furthermore, comprehensive exploration aims provide solid foundation practical advancing utilization meat.
