Abstract Citrus fruit essential oil is considered one of the widely studied oils while its leaves attract less attention although being rich in nearly same composition as peel and flowers. The bitter orange or sour ( aurantium L.) were extracted using three different techniques namely; hydrodistillation (HD), steam distillation (SD), microwave-assisted (MV) to compare their chemical composition. samples analyzed through GC/FID GC/MS analyses. tested vitro antioxidant (DPPH, ABTS, CUPRAC, FRAP, PBD, MCA), neuroprotective enzyme inhibitory activities (acetylcholine butyl choline enzymes), antidiabetic (α-amylase α-glucosidase). results showed that thirty-five volatile ingredients detected quantified. Monoterpenes represented most abundant class followed by sesquiterpenes. C. carried potential activity where SD exhibited highest activity, with values arranged following order: FRAP (200.43 mg TE/g), CUPRAC (138.69 ABTS (129.49 DPPH (51.67 TE/g). also presented potent α-amylase (0.32) inhibition MV α-glucosidase (2.73 mmol ACAE/g), HD (2.53 (2.46 ACAE/g). BChE AChE (3.73 2.06 GALAE/g), respectively). Thus, can act a source antioxidant, antidiabetic, for future drug leads.

β-carotene (β-C) is a hydrophobic compound, easily degradable by light and oxygen with low solubility, limiting its applications. β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) can encapsulate β-C, protecting it from degradation maintaining bioactivity. Therefore, this research aimed to characterize determine the antioxidant erythroprotective activity of β-C/β-CD inclusion complexes. The co-precipitation technique was used elaborate in 40:60 ratio, obtaining high yield (94.10%), an entrapment efficiency 82.47%, loading 11.92%. moisture 2.93%. β-C release increased over time 216 h (80.8%, 92.8%, 97.4% at 8 °C, 25 37 respectively). A UV–visible analysis confirmed presence complex, indicating successful encapsulation without significant structural changes. According adsorption–desorption isotherms, complexes showed type II isotherm. FT-IR Raman spectroscopy formation which interacted hydrogen bonds, interactions, or van der Waals forces. DSC endothermic peak 118 °C β-C/β:CD. TGA revealed reduced water loss β-carotene/β-cyclodextrin limited binding due encapsulation. microscopic surface morphologies observed SEM were irregular-shaped clumps particle average size 8.09 µm. X-ray diffraction crystalline structure complex. zeta potential determination indicated negative charge (−23 −32 mV). ABTS, DPPH, FRAP demonstrated β-C/β:CD (34.09%, 21.73%, 8.85. mM ET/g, respectively), similar pure (34.64%, 22.63%, 9.12 μM effect inhibiting hemolysis (64.09%). these characteristics, β-CD good encapsulant for complex could be applied food pharmaceutical industries.

In this study, UHPLC-HRMS analysis of the defatted methanol extract obtained from Inula salicina L. led to identification 58 compounds—hydroxycinnamic and hydroxybenzoic acids their glycosides, acylquinic caffeoylhexaric acids, flavonoids glycosides. addition, a new natural compound, N-(8-methylnepetin)-3-hydroxypiperidin-2-one was isolated its structure elucidated by NMR spectroscopy. The presence flavoalkaloid in genus is described now for first time. Chlorogenic acid main compound followed 3,5-, 1,5- 4,5-dicaffeoylquinic acids. studied antioxidant potential DPPH, ABTS, FRAP assays sun protective properties. study conducted assess effectiveness tested inhibiting biofilm formation Gram-positive Gram-negative strains. Results crystal violet tests revealed notable decrease mass due extract. anti-biofilm efficacy confirmed through observation viability live/dead staining. results showed that plant could be used development cosmetic products with antibacterial protection
