Background Hyperuricemia is a significant risk factor for various metabolic and cardiovascular conditions. Life’s Essential 8 (LE8), comprehensive measure of health promoted by the American Heart Association, may have protective role against hyperuricemia. This study aims to evaluate association between LE8 scores hyperuricemia in representative sample US adults. Methods We conducted cross-sectional using data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2005–2018, encompassing 26,885 were calculated based on diet, physical activity, nicotine exposure, sleep health, body mass index, blood lipids, glucose, pressure. was defined as serum uric acid levels ≥7.0 mg/dL men ≥ 6.0 women. Logistic regression generalized additive models (GAMs) used analyze relationship hyperuricemia, adjusting potential confounders. Results Higher significantly associated with lower odds (OR per 10-point increase: 0.73, 95% CI: 0.72–0.75, p < 0.001). Stratified analyses revealed consistent effects across subgroups sex, age, race/ethnicity, PIR (poverty income ratio), education level, drinking status, eGFR, CVD status. GAM both confirmed linear increasing reduced risk. For example, males, OR 0.81 (95% 0.78–0.84), females, it 0.66 0.64–0.68). Conclusion The findings suggest that higher are robustly These results support promotion behaviors encapsulated mitigate Further studies needed explore causal pathways interventions.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a leading condition in terms of prevalence and overall health impact. With the increased life expectancy CKD population improvement medical care, controlling musculoskeletal complications remains tough challenge. Patients with are prone to falls, fractures sarcopenia, enhancing risk death. A multitude mechanisms contribute fractures, treatment suboptimal; therefore, prevention must stand out as key step. This review aims provide an overview most relevant data regarding impact nutrition on bone disorders sarcopenia CKD. The newest studies emphasize that plant protein intake associated lower production uremic toxins, serum phosphorus levels, stronger bones. We conclude patients should adopt specific diets tailored presence osteoporosis, renal osteodystrophy, muscle wasting. Low-protein or plant-dominant containing adequate amount could be better choices for predialysis order protect their bones muscles, whereas dialysis population, higher essential prevent osteoporosis sarcopenia. In all CKD, focusing antioxidant food strong antiaging benefit through ensuring good health.

This study aims to investigate the determinants of progression Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and role antioxidant supplementation in managing oxidative stress kidney function. The research used a cross-sectional with 120 participants, considering variables such as age, gender, smoking, family history, diet, alcohol consumption, education, occupation. Key findings from analysis were that age was significant contributing factor CKD progression, older individuals having greater likelihood developing advanced disease stages. Males, particularly those hypertension, had increased prevalence damage. Smoking also found accelerate intake diet rich fruits vegetables being associated high use. intervention group, supplemented antioxidants, evidenced remarkable reductions indicators well improvement function compared existing levels, shown by statistical comparison through Paired t-tests Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Tests (p < 0.05). control on other hand, experienced no similar alterations. In addition, multivariable regression model proved impact baseline function, comorbid illness outcomes poorer patients reduced eGFR. suggest lifestyle modifications smoking abstinence change, may have are potential targets for clinical intervention. highlights key influencing emphasizing modifiable risk factors like use, physical activity. Findings support crucial strategies slowing improving renal health outcomes.

PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) exposure has been linked to kidney damage through mechanisms involving gut microbiota dysbiosis alterations in blood metabolites. These disruptions trigger renal inflammation, oxidative stress, metabolic dysregulation, impairing function. significantly alters microbial communities, impacting metabolites like short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), bile acids, trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO). imbalances contribute chronic inflammation fibrosis the gut-kidney axis. Additionally, disrupts related energy metabolism, mitochondrial function, lipid oxidation, amino acid metabolism. Biomarkers such as uric acid, creatinine, homocysteine indicate nephrotoxic stress. This paper explores potential by which impact health interactions with It also highlights its effects role affecting multiple body systems that may involve various medical specialists, internists, gastroenterologists, cardiologists, obstetricians, gynecologists, psychiatrists.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is characterized by functional and structural abnormalities, with its progression strongly influenced oxidative stress inflammatory responses, ultimately leading to renal fibrosis. This study aimed investigate the effects of a Ganoderma lucidum Robinia pseudoacacia flower extract complex (NEPROBIN) through in vitro vivo experiments. In experiments NRK52E tubular epithelial cells demonstrated that NEPROBIN significantly alleviates H2O2-induced suppresses lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced activation mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer activated B (NF-κB) signaling pathways. Additionally, reduced LPS-induced NF-κB transcriptional activity downregulated expression cytokines chemokines these cells. We further investigated vivo. Kidney damage was induced mice using 0.25% adenine diet (AD), were orally treated at doses 100, 200, 400 mg/kg/day for two weeks. treatment AD-induced elevations blood urea, serum creatinine, urinary β2-microglobulin levels. Markers notably lower kidneys NEPROBIN-treated mice. Furthermore, effectively mitigated response kidneys, marked reduction cytokine chemokine expression. decrease inflammation associated significant tubulointerstitial Overall, alleviated fibrosis directly targeting inflammation, highlighting potential as therapeutic agent CKD.

Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients are at a higher risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), common complication and leading cause death. Persistent micro-inflammation is unique feature MHD. Given the established role inflammation in pathogenesis atherosclerosis, this study aims to explore whether novel inflammatory markers (inflammation index) can serve as independent factors for CVD MHD patients. A cross-sectional survey was conducted on from three dialysis centers, categorized into non-CVD group based medical history, laboratory tests, physical examination. Fasting blood samples were collected all participants indicator testing. The analysis 209 revealed that 104 had concurrent CVD. Patients significantly older exhibited anxiety depression scores. Forward stepwise multivariate logistic regression results identified index neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) (OR = 1.27, 95% CI 1.082–1.491, P < 0.05) systemic immune-inflammation (SII) 1.001, 1.0001–1.002, Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve demonstrated SII, platelet-to-lymphocyte (PLR), monocyte-to-lymphocyte (MLR), NLR possess predictive diagnostic values events patient population. Hemodialysis centers utilize simple cost-effective proactively identify Future research how contributes required.
