Dental implants and bone augmentation are among dentistry's most prevalent surgical treatments; hence, many dental implant surfaces grafts have been researched to improve response. Such new materials were radiologically, histologically, histomorphometrically evaluated on animals before being used humans. As a result, several studies evaluate novel technologies, biocompatibility, techniques, osseointegration strategies, as preclinical research animal models is essential bioactive principles (on cells, compounds, implants) that can act through multiple mechanisms predict behavior, which difficult from in vitro alone. In this study, we critically reviewed all different investigating the degree of surfaces, reporting species over last 30 years. Moreover, first study summarize reviews main translational osseointegration, including advantages limitations each model determining ideal location for small large models. Overall, has disadvantages; selection should be based cost acquisition, care, acceptability society, availability, tolerance captivity, housing convenience. Among models, rabbits an biological observations around implants, it worth noting was discovered rabbit successfully applied

Abstract Background Bioactive surface modifications have been proposed to enhance osseointegration and longevity of dental implants. This study aimed systematically review perform a meta-analysis on the effectiveness various bioactive coatings in promoting bone integration improving implant longevity. Methods A systematic was conducted, including studies that investigated titanium Outcomes interest were bone-to-implant contact (BIC) over 30-day period. Data extracted analyzed using RevMan 5 (version 5.4.1), with forest plots generated represent mean difference (MD) 95% confidence intervals (CI) under random effects model. Results The showed significant improvement BIC for surface-modified implants, an overall MD 7.29 (95% CI [2.94, 11.65]). Heterogeneity analysis indicated moderate heterogeneity (Tau² = 18.57, Chi² 16.08, df 8, P 0.04, I² 50%). test effect yielded Z 3.28 ( 0.001). For longevity, 7.52 [3.18, 11.85]), 17.28, 14.95, 0.06, 47%). 3.40 0.0007). Conclusion changes significantly improved lifespan Collagen-based consistently encouraged early integration, while BMP-2 combinations effective osseointegration. Optimizing agent doses critical achieving desired outcomes.

Abstract Purpose This study assessed the impact of buccal bone on hard and soft tissues in submerged non-submerged immediate implants using a minipig model. Methods Sixty-five titanium (Camlog Progressive Line) were placed four minipigs immediately after tooth extraction. All (NSM) received mechanically induced defect (NSM-BD), whereas group (SM) was classified as defective (SM-BD) intact (SM-BI). defects underwent guided regeneration (GBR). After months, sacrificed. Harvested specimens analysed histomorphometry light fluorescence microscopy. The evaluated parameters included sulcus (S), implant epithelium (IE), connective tissue (CT), biological width (BW), highest point (HSTP), first contact (FHTC). Results Of 65 (6%) lost, while all remaining demonstrated clinical stability (Periotest). Despite GBR failures caused by pigs’ hay consumption one week, no significant differences ( p > 0.5) observed between SM-BD NSM-BD (NSM-BD/SM-BD: S = 0.6 mm, IE 2.9/2.4 CT 3.5/3.4 BW 5.9/5.8 mm). Compared to SM-BI soft-tissue increased length with reduced lamella (SM-BI/SM-BD: 0.4/0,6 mm; ≤ 0.04, SM-BI/NSM-BD: 1.8/2.9 0.007, SM-BI/SM-BD: 2.5/3.4 0.01, 4.0/5.8 0.007). HSTP remained unaffected 0.5; (NSM-BD 1.8 1.0 2.0 for groups. Conclusion A resulted prolonged S, IE, CT, BW. However, aesthetic parameter did not exhibit at site when comparing SM NSM healing protocols. Graphical

Bone regeneration is a central focus of maxillofacial research, especially when dealing with dental implants or critical sized wound sites. While bone has great potential, exogenous delivery growth factors can greatly enhance the speed, duration, and quality osseointegration, making difference in patient’s life. morphogenic protein 2 (BMP-2) highly potent factor that acts as recruiting molecule for mesenchymal stromal cells, induces rapid differentiation them into osteoblasts, while also maintaining their viability. Currently, literature data shows liposomal direct transfection plasmids containing BMP-2 at site often results overexpression osteogenic markers result enhanced mineralization formation new matrix. We reviewed on scientific regarding help liposomes. This may provide ground future strategy real chances reaching clinical practice.
