The phenomenon of adolescents engaging in less physical activity as they age raises several concerns. Among these, we hypothesized that this trend may negatively impact their mental health and smartphone dependency. Thus, the aim study was to longitudinally examine mediating effect dependency relationship between adolescents' exercise time subjective well-being. For analysis, publicly available data from 2018 Korean Children Youth Panel Survey were utilized, with a total 2,242 participants' included analysis. Latent growth modeling results revealed significant linear decrease well-being each year, while exhibited an increasing trend. Furthermore, significance tests indirect effects indicated changing trends happiness statistically significant. These findings suggest grade levels increase, reducing can lead higher among adolescents, ultimately resulting decreased

Smartphone addiction (SA) refers to a behavioral disorder characterized by an irresistible compulsion excessively engage with mobile devices. Currently, the evidence regarding relationship between physical activity (PA), exercise intensity (EI), and SA is limited, particularly within Chinese populations. This study aims explore correlation PA, EI, SA, specifically investigating how PA EI impact better understand nature of this relationship. A cross-sectional was conducted involving college students from over 20 universities in Western China. Data were collected on participants' engagement SA. Additionally, covariates such as age, gender, ethnicity, academic classification, university location, discipline, year study, hometown region, sibling status, social interactions recorded. Multivariate logistic regression models used assess association Stratified interaction analyses performed examine whether remained consistent across different subgroups. Of 3,506 surveyed, 1,905 (54.3%) experienced The prevalence 11.3% lower group that engaged compared those who did not. In fully adjusted model, negatively associated (OR = 0.70, 95% CI: 0.59-0.82, p < 0.001). also inversely Moderate- vigorous-intensity had odds ratios 0.81 (95% 0.67-0.98, 0.034) 0.83 0.68-1.00, 0.046), respectively, low-intensity exercise. Similar patterns observed subgroup (all values for >0.05). findings indicate significant negative highlighting potential promoting higher strategies reduce among students.

The internet is now essential in college students’ lives, but its overuse turning into a worldwide issue, notably with rising addiction among students. Earlier studies have mainly explored the risk factors of addiction, yielding various findings. This study aims to delve key affecting university students by integrating theory psychological resilience cognitive-behavioral theory. It thoroughly analyzes how self-control, emotional regulation, social support, perceived stress, and influence explores their interactions underlying mechanisms. conveniently selected 999 for survey measure self-reported ratings on six constructs: resilience, addiction. Employing Structural Equation Modeling - Artificial Neural Network (SEM-ANN) approach, unveiled complex non-linear relationships between predictors Results indicated that self-control significantly reduce while stress increases risk. Notably, regulation support did not directly lower Further analysis revealed plays mediating role Additionally, multilayer perceptron normalized importance showed as most critical predictive factor (100%), followed (9.1%), (8.4%), (5.4%). contributes theoretical practical insights

Objective To explore the role of college students' core self-evaluation in association between extracurricular physical exercise and academic stress, to provide a reference basis for effectively alleviating current stress. Methods A stratified cluster random sampling method was used conduct an online survey using China College Student Mental Health Screening Scale, Core Self-Esteem self-developed questionnaire 1,249 students from 8 junior colleges Jiangsu Province, China, January 2023, analyses were conducted bivariate correlation mediation effect tests. Results More than half worried about lagging behind other their studies worrying exams, as well more had <2 h per week terms Significant correlations found time ( r = 0.225, p < 0.01), stress −0.317, =−0.371, 0.01). Abstract Background Hedonic smartphone use has been associated with dependence and addiction studied under the umbrella term Problematic Smartphone Use (PSU). Research usually explores total screen time as an index of PSU. A few studies suggest that exercise is inversely related to time. However, it unknown which primary characteristics behavior are more moderate smarthone use. Furthermore, purpose use, such hedonic PSU versus utilitarian was not tested in sports contexts. generally means playing for joy, distraction, satisfaction. Utilitarian implies practical valuable There a conjecture involvement may foster through increased sports‐related information‐seeking, goal‐setting, self‐monitoring. Methods Therefore, we examined whether weekly frequency, workout duration, perceived intensity relate daily this relationship mediated by device We regularly exercising adults ( n = 360, 132 males, M age 39.0 ± 9.8, 5.8 1.9) who volunteered study provided demographic information about their habits Results The results revealed all parameters being negative predictor. Further, frequency duration (but intensity) positively predicted Conclusion These directly completely mediates findings partially account frequently reported inverse between regular suggesting connection via

Objective This study investigates the mediating role of social anxiety in relationship between physical activity and problematic smartphone use among college students, examines moderating gender within this model. Methods From April to May 2023, a survey was conducted involving 2905 undergraduate students from various medical schools Shandong, China. Participants completed Physical Activity Rating Scale (PARS-3), Mobile Phone Addiction Tendency for College Students (MPATS), Social Anxiety (IAS). Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, hierarchical regression analysis other methods were employed explore relationships variables. The effect on mobile phone addiction assessed using bootstrapping method, while evaluated PROCESS macro's model 14. Results findings revealed that scores 44.00 (35.00, 50.00), score 16.00 (8.00, 32.00), 45.00 (42.00, 52.00). significantly negatively correlated with both ( P < 0.001), positively 0.001). partially mediated (β = −0.04, 95% CI −0.05 −0.02), mediation proportion 57.14%. Sex played −0.30, −0.39 −0.21). Conclusion influences directly indirectly through anxiety. moderates influence use, highlighting need gender-specific interventions demographic.
