Corona ionizers are used to enhance the effectiveness of indoor air cleaners, remove odors, and promote inactivation viruses attached airborne particles. However, there is limited experimental evidence ions in quality, many commercial products have ambiguous or misleading performance statements. This study measured effect corona generated on particle wall deposition cleaning systems. The experiments concentration decay a polydisperse NaCl aerosol as function time for variety room conditions including: (1) zero ventilation room, (2) HVAC system (100% outdoor air) at fixed flow rate, (3) Indoor cleaners different settings. For zero-ventilation case, unipolar by factor 2, while bipolar do not deposition. rates increased 10 30%, depending operating conditions. Ion ozone concentrations were also room. work demonstrates that can help improve particularly poorly ventilated environments, measurable modest enhancement

The pandemic of the COVID-19 disease has radically changed human lifestyle and usage living space, especially in cities. With prolongation crisis, effects on urban spaces are becoming more noticeable, but definite changes that can inform approaches to future development, planning, use space have not yet been determined, as evidenced by research carried out this study. revealed there exists consensus terms several new guidelines whose application design simultaneously increase resilience environment pandemics improve overall quality city life. These presented show we may expect a greater integration nature-based solutions at various scales city, i.e., better ventilated, naturally lit, spacious, mixed-use, flexible buildings surrounded enlarged, multiplied, multifunctional open safely receive users who carrying those activities were moved from inner outer space.

Although "health" and "well-being" have been the center of attention within medical psychological fields for many centuries, a growing body evidence suggests that this interest has expanding to other disciplines, such as architecture engineering. Consequently, more inclusive definitions are needed incorporate contribution fields, which will facilitate interdisciplinary studies on topic. However, health well-being complex concepts, therefore, research is required understand individual differences presented those how perceived. Therefore, present study adopted mixed-methods approach investigate defined literature in community with aim clarify two terms further. A Rapid Evidence Assessment (REA) review was conducted summarize literature, particularly field built environment. Additionally, an online survey administered experts laypeople explore their own "well-being". The results from REA demonstrated paradigm shift over years, being perceived continuum emphasis people's ability adapt any presenting physical or mental conditions. there still limited reference environmental contributions findings indicated four groups people, who believe either necessary, no interconnection between constructs, them goes beyond well-being. Future could these further order whether perception based knowledge concepts different piorities life be incorporated future New working proposed suggesting defining underlying processes involved.

The quality of the indoor environment significantly impacts human health and productivity, especially given amount time individuals spend indoors globally. While chemical pollutants have been a focus air research, microbial contaminants also significant bearing on quality. This review provides comprehensive overview contamination in built environments, covering sources, sampling strategies, analysis methods. Microbial has various origins, including occupants, pets, outdoor environment. Sampling strategies for include air, surface, dust sampling, methods are used to assess diversity complexity environments. discusses risks associated with contaminants, bacteria, fungi, viruses, their products highlighting need evidence-based studies that can relate specific conditions. importance is emphasized from perspective COVID-19 pandemic. A section highlights knowledge gap related microbiological burden environments developing countries, using India as representative example. Finally, potential mitigation improve briefly reviewed.

This research examines post-pandemic strategies for designing traditional market buildings in Indonesia to accommodate the needs of older adult. The pandemic has impacted their physical and mental vulnerabilities, necessitating increased inclusive design standards. Previous not captured importance adult preferences strategies, especially local Java. aims provide an overview how building designs can preferences. used mixed methods, starting with a survey 121 respondents aged 50 years over, followed by in-depth interviews 20 participants. Quantitative data highlights gaps, such as lack greenery, inadequate parking circulation space, limited senior-friendly features, non-slip floors, seating, ramps. interview further detailed adult's preferences, material selection, seating distribution, minimizing stairs, adding ramps handrails, circulation. findings show that current is sufficient meet adult’s needs. provision interior cleanliness meets minimum standards, but inclusivity still neglected, more than 83% stating responsive them. Moreover, participants emphasized reorganizing spatial layout, including widening paths, resting (or waiting), zoning certain commodities. contribution recommendations are Findings advocate spaces resilient inclusive, prioritizing health community.

Surface contamination and transmission can lead to Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) in a healthcare environment. To tackle this problem, sustainable antimicrobial coating is desirable. Photocatalytic coatings with titanium dioxide (TiO2) as the main component activated by UV light are one option. In order implement real-world hospital setting photocatalytic must show activity under visible light. article TiO2 photocatalyst was synthesised both 2- 3- composites polyaniline (PANI) or poly(aniline-co-3-aminobenzoic acid) (fPANI) Ag nanoparticles achieve performance The UV-DRS results supported capability of 3-component composite systems, ESR spectra exhibited presence charge carriers (unpaired electrons), which confirmed conductivity studies. intensity peak increases around 3-fold for PANI/fPANI-TiO2-Ag compared pure PANI/fPANI. PANI fPANI only mildly enhanced could be due TiO2, whereas value increased three times PANI/fPANI-Ag 2-component system conductive nanoparticles. showed improved than against representative microorganisms Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus model viral strain bacteriophage Phi X 174. BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is widely recognized for promoting environmental sustainability in the built environment, with a strong focus on energy efficiency, resource management, and ecological impact. However, as entails economic dimensions but also social dimensions, current New Construction standards do not fully address targets. This article explores potential expanding to more comprehensively incorporate sustainability, ensuring that certified projects contribute well-being of their occupants surrounding communities. Through review existing categories, technical manuals, standards, an analysis gaps related this paper identifies key areas improvement, including user satisfaction, protecting workers’ human rights, legacy planning, education skills, emergency response planning. These are mapped against categories credits, recommendations introduce additional credits across materials, energy, waste, land use ecology, health well-being, water. Additionally, highlights importance transdisciplinary collaboration—bringing together architects, urban planners, scientists, public experts—to effectively complexity building design certification. The proposed additions alongside industry policymakers, offer guidelines evolution green certifications toward holistic approach sustainability. shift ensures future buildings reduce impact promote equity, health, community simultaneously.
