Immunological dysfunctions in eating disorders have recently gained increasing scientific attention. Furthermore, the reciprocal association between anorexia and autoimmune diseases is of particular interest suggests a role autoimmunity pathogenesis disorders. Anorexia nervosa (AN) are linked by bidirectional relationship based on common immunopathological mechanisms. In this review, addition to reporting numerous cases described which associated with or vice versa, we summarize many aspects immune system (IS) AN. We describe how microbiota affects IS, disrupts gut-brain communication, possibly triggers also shared immunological pathways occurrence disrupted T cell tolerance autoantibodies The observations represent starting point for possible, future research directions.

Purpose of review This summarizes current evidence on the potential link between severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and autoimmunity. Recent findings Several viral infections are triggers reactive autoimmune diseases by inducing type II IV hypersensitivity reactions. demonstrated that SARS-CoV-2 is not an exception, triggering production tissue-specific autoantibodies during phase disease 2019 (COVID-19) leading to development as long-term complication. The significant immune dysregulation with cytokine storm organ damage observed in patients critical COVID-19 considered main mechanism explaining high levels autoantibodies, which also implicated severity need for intensive care assessment. Multisystem inflammatory children (MIS-C) immune-mediated where recent leads systemic inflammation, already other diseases. Summary Autoimmunity may be a complication SAR-CoV-2 infection. Understanding pathogenesis manifestations might help prevent incidence or exacerbation disorders design better more efficient treatment strategies adult populations.

The pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), etiologically related to the SARS-CoV-2 virus (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2), has drawn attention new clinical and fundamental problems in immunopathology human diseases associated with virus-induced autoimmunity autoinflammation. provision that “the experience gained rheumatology process studying pathogenetic mechanisms pharmacotherapy immunoinflammatory rheumatic as most common severe forms autoimmune autoinflammatory pathology humans will be demand for deciphering nature pathological processes underlying COVID-19 developing approaches effective pharmacotherapy” was confirmed numerous studies conducted over next 3 years midst pandemic. main focus on a critical analysis data regarding role inflammation, which basis pathogenesis immune-mediated context COVID-19.

Long COVID, as currently defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) and other authorities, is a symptomatic condition that has been shown to affect an estimated 10 %-30 % of non-hospitalized patients after one infection. However, COVID-19 can also cause organ damage in individuals without symptoms, who would not fall under current definition COVID. This damage, whether or not, lead various health impacts such heart attacks strokes. Given these observations, it necessary either expand COVID include recognize COVID-19-induced distinct affecting many asymptomatic infections. It important consider known adverse outcomes, including conditions cancers, be until harm thresholds are reached. Many more medical identified testing than those recognized through reported symptoms. therefore similarly while symptoms associated with there have displaying this characterization monitoring
