Current bioeconomy research is biased towards the supply side and lacks a holistic overview of bioeconomy’s growth limiting factors (limiters). To provide such an overview, literature review was performed to identify classify limiters' effect (supply demand) they are conditional on (anthropogenic biophysical). The results indicated clustering limiters anthropogenic with effects. In contrast, demand were barely included, reinforcing impression bias in literature. Among limiters, there also clear distinction between biophysical factors, as latter included literature, indicating gap. We suggest including non-anthropogenic consumption limiter, which emphasises our competition other organisms for biomass. Two possible explanations that it caused by myopic analyses technological innovation processes prominent solutions, prevalence Kuznets curve optimistic visons or combination both. Microalgae have become a key source of valuable compounds, promoting commercial scale applications. However, biological contamination is one the most critical problems associated with large algal production, especially in open systems such as raceway ponds. The current research first to assess effectiveness ponds maintaining pure culture Tetraselmis sp., starting from 20 L up 10,000 culture. Microbial profiling each successive stage revealed lower abundance eukaryotic organisms, whereas bacterial increased notably resulting significant decrease sp. abundance. Furthermore, several bacteria algae growth-promoting properties were found throughout various stages including Balneola, Roseovarius, and Marinobacter. some algae-suppressive evidenced at later Ulvibacter, Aestuariicoccus, Defluviimonas. Action 2 of the European Union’s Updated Bioeconomy Strategy, i.e., “Deploy local bioeconomies rapidly across Europe”, promotes education and training in all member states. It is a fact that Greece has not yet adopted national bioeconomy strategy, so stakeholders farmers cannot benefit from its potential. The adoption practices now prerequisite for receiving funding under Common Agricultural Policy 2023–2027. Purpose This study aims to assess the factors influencing adoption of circular bioeconomy practices by crop farmers. Design/methodology/approach Data collected from 303 farmers in region Western Macedonia (WM) were used identify bioeconomy. Principal component analysis (PCA) and exploratory factor (EFA) techniques applied through a custom-designed specially structured questionnaire.
