The characterization and quantification of functional groups in technical lignins are among the chief obstacles utilization this highly abundant biopolymer. Improper waste disposal is one of the leading causes environmental pollution, impacting soil, water, and air quality. In coffee plantations, each kilogram beans produced generates an equal amount husk, emphasizing urgent need for sustainable practices to process this residual biomass into valued products. This study aimed evaluate potential husks pellet production. Three husk types were selected with distinct chemical compositions granulometries: I (>5.3 mm), II (>2.6 mm <5.3 III (<1.77 mm). The was characterized elemental, structural, proximate composition. Pellets two knife heights (15 20 mm) assessed moisture content, density, length, mechanical resistance, which compared EN 14691-6 standard (DIN, 2012). Pelletizer productivity also evaluated. from had ash content 12.09%, exceeding <10% requirement. Other treatments met standard, category B. (17.55%) (18.1%) at 15 length did not meet <15% standard. remaining pellets B standards. Only origin (1.62%) nitrogen requirement international trade (<2%). higher smaller granulometry biomass. Coffee has demonstrated its production, highlighting valorization use clean energy generation, contributing greenhouse gas emissions mitigation, strengthening circular economy.

Lignocellulosic wastes are the most promising feedstock, as they inexpensive and abundantly renewable natural resource. The abundance of cellulose, lignin, hemicellulose in feedstocks has been shown to be effective eliminating persistent contaminants. Environmental issues, including accumulation agricultural waste, waste water treatment, air pollution, could resolved by producing value-added products like activated carbon from these wastes. Several biomass were used produce using a two-step processing method that involved oxygen-free carbonisation activation. This study examines methods for making biochar different lignocellulosic sources. Furthermore, modification significantly modifies surface area pore volume. To determine fundamental characteristics evaluate its potential use variety environmental applications, physical chemical characterizations required. Various widely modern analytical techniques, such scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), photoelectron (XPS), transmission (TEM), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), Raman spectroscopy, have reviewed this work. mechanisms through which biochars may absorb pollutants outlined.
