People, communities, and economies in small island developing states are extremely vulnerable to climate change, disasters, other crises. Renewable energy can play an important part building the resilience of these communities. Worldwide, the continuous advancement of off-grid solar photovoltaic irrigation seeks to improve water access, increase food production, and reduce carbon emissions energy costs associated with fuel usage. Abstract Efficient water management is crucial in modern agriculture, especially regions facing scarcity. Traditional irrigation systems often result wastage, which challenges sustainability goals. This paper presents a comprehensive review of novel Internet Things (IoT)-based smart system with rainfall prediction based on pollutant concentration designed to optimize usage through real-time environmental monitoring and promote sustainable agriculture the integration photovoltaic (PV) power. Irrigation plays a crucial role in enhancing food production, increasing land productivity, and improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Solar pumps water harvesting ponds have emerged as promising technologies for sustainable agriculture smallholders SSA beyond. The socio-economic impacts these systems are less studied existing literature. This study examined agricultural productivity solar pump irrigation their on income security among Central Rift Valley, Lake Hawassa, Upper Awash sub-basin areas Ethiopia. Persistent electricity shortages in Pakistan, causing prolonged grid power load shedding, have adversely impacted various sectors, notably agriculture and the livelihoods of rural farmers. Literature suggests that adopting photovoltaic solar energy can mitigate these issues. This research aims to measure impact on technical efficiency food productivity Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, applying data from 580 respondents. Addressing self-selective bias through ESR stochastic frontier production function model is utilized assess efficiency.
