People’s well-being, health and productivity in indoor environments are crucial areas of investigation, particularly concerning sick building syndrome (SBS). Sick encompasses symptoms resulting from exposure to harmful factors associated with use. Headaches, fatigue, malaise nausea amongst the complaints SBS. A literature review was conducted, examining studies Scopus Web Science identify major impacts SBS on health, well-being productivity. Out 3601 initially identified articles, 134 were analyzed after applying predefined criteria. Three research questions (RQs) formulated, leading following findings: (i) most focused offices (35.48%), highlighting common respiratory that range mild severe based individual sensitivity, conditions predictive factors; (ii) air quality (IAQ) emerged as primary factor influencing SBS, especially within post-pandemic context. Increasing circulation ventilation viable alternatives enhance IAQ. Green approach on wastewater treatment strategies aims to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly methods for treating while also reducing the environmental impact of traditional processes. Hence, objective this paper was undertake a critical review green using standard techniques harvesting data from secondary sources 2015 2023. Information obtained reveals that energy-efficient technologies, such as anaerobic digestion membrane bioreactors, use less energy than technologies. Photocatalytic coatings incorporating nano-TiO2 have emerged as effective solutions for air purification, utilizing solar radiation to degrade airborne pollutants. However, the long-term stability of such coatings, particularly those based on organic binders, remains a concern due their susceptibility photocatalytic-driven degradation. This study investigates effects low-intensity UV-A irradiation (1–10 W/m2) acrylic-based photocatalytic coatings’ structural integrity and purification performance. The findings reveal that significant binder decomposition occurs even under low conditions—comparable natural sunlight exposure in Northern Central Europe during autumn winter. surface porosity increased from 2.28% 9.09% polymer degradation, exposing more particles enhancing NO removal efficiency approximately 120 µg/hm2 360 (1 W/m2). this process also resulted benzene emissions reaching five ppb, raising concerns about secondary pollution potential release matrix disintegration. These highlight need optimized coating formulations balance with material stability, mitigating environmental health risks associated pollutant emissions.
