Huntington's disease (HD) is a currently incurable neurogenerative disorder and typically characterized by progressive movement (including chorea), cognitive deficits (culminating in dementia), psychiatric abnormalities (the most common of which depression), peripheral symptoms gastrointestinal dysfunction). There are no approved disease‐modifying therapies available for HD, with death usually occurring approximately 10–25 years after onset, but some hold promising potential. HD subjects often burdened chronic diarrhea, constipation, esophageal gastric inflammation, susceptibility to diabetes. Our understanding the microbiota–gut–brain axis its infancy growing evidence from preclinical clinical studies suggests role gut microbial population imbalance (gut dysbiosis) pathophysiology. The brain can communicate through enteric nervous system, immune vagus nerve, microbiota‐derived‐metabolites including short‐chain fatty acids, bile branched‐chain amino acids. This review summarizes supporting demonstrating alterations bacterial fungal composition that may be associated HD. We focus on mechanisms dysbiosis compromise health, thus triggering neuroinflammatory responses, further highlight outcomes attempts modulate microbiota as therapeutic strategies Ultimately, we discuss dearth data need more longitudinal translational this nascent field. suggest future directions improve our association between microbes pathogenesis other ‘brain body disorders’.

In recent years, the consumption of functional foods containing health-beneficial ingredients has become increasingly popular. Polyphenols are among most important and bioactive molecules found in a variety fresh produce food products. However, limited solubility polyphenols water can significantly affect their bioavailability, thereby reducing potential health benefits. To overcome this limitation, various approaches have been explored, including molecular enhancers, nanoparticles, encapsulation systems, conjugation methods. review, we focus on advances methods for enhancing bioavailability polyphenols. We provide concise overview types determination and, subsequently, discuss concept methods, different synthesizing confirmation procedures, effects polysaccharides Overall, review provides comprehensive update that be used to improve highlights these enhance benefits polyphenol-rich foods.

Scientific evidence suggests a relation between dietary factors and sleep. Several studies show that higher adherence to the Mediterranean diet is associated with better sleep quality, but chronotype has been only recently explored. The aim of this study was understand adherence. For purpose, an analysis 1936 adults (age 18–90 y) living in Italy performed investigate association (assessed short form morningness-eveningness questionnaire) through 110-item food frequency questionnaire Medi-Lite literature-based score). A multivariate logistic regression conducted calculate odds ratios (OR) 95 % confidence intervals (CIs) describing chronotypes high (>14 points). Moreover, systematic review other observational published so far performed. Individuals reporting having intermediate (n = 614) evening 173) were less likely have compared morning (OR 0.28, CI: 0.18, 0.42 OR 0.08, 0.03, 0.27, respectively). When subgroups age, results similar mid-age (>50 participants (for chronotypes, 0.21, 0.10, 0.43 0.92, 0.01, 0.69, respectively) while lost significance older (>60 0.09, 0.82 0.22, 0.02, 1.92, Out 10 (date range publication 2020–2022) included review, there general consistence findings showing among although few reported null results. In conclusion, current could be lower diet, modified by when considering individuals.

Neurological ailments, including stroke, Alzheimer's disease (AD), epilepsy, Parkinson's (PD), and other related diseases, have affected around 1 billion people globally to date. PD stands second among the common neurodegenerative diseases caused as a result of dopaminergic neuron loss in midbrain's substantia nigra regions. It affects cognitive motor activities, resulting tremors during rest, slow movement, muscle stiffness. There are various traditional approaches for management PD, but they provide only symptomatic relief. Thus, survey finding new biomolecules or substances exhibiting therapeutic potential patients with is main focus present-day research. Medicinal plants, herbal formulations, natural bioactive molecules been gaining much more attention recent years synthetic orchestrate number undesired effects. Several vitro, vivo, silico studies past demonstrated medicinal plant-based bioactives. Among bioactives, polyphenols, terpenes, alkaloids particular interest due their potent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, brain-health-promoting properties. Further, there no concise, elaborated articles comprising updated mechanism-of-action-based reviews published literature on potent, recently investigated (2019-2023) plant based-bioactive molecules, alkaloids, method PD. Therefore, we designed current review an illustration efficacious role bioactives (polyphenols, alkaloids) that can become therapeutics against greater specificity, target approachability, bioavailability, safety host. This information be further utilized future develop several value-added formulations nutraceutical products achieve desired efficacy
