This study examines the influence of COVID-19 and climate change on food security in Oman using econometric methods. Time series data from 1990 to 2022 encompassing variables such as carbon dioxide emissions (CO 2 ), real GDP per capita (RGDPc), inflation rate (INF), a pre/post-coronavirus dummy variable (DUMV) are analyzed. The dependent variable, FOOD_Impit, serves proxy, with sourced World Development Indicators Global Food Security Index databases. employs Johansen cointegration, canonical cointegrating regression (CCR), fully modified least squares (FMOLS), investigate effect Oman. CCR cointegration tests confirm long-term relationship among Oman, indicating their relevance security. Food computing refers to the integration of digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet Things (IoT), and data-driven approaches, address various challenges in food sector. It encompasses a wide range technologies that improve efficiency, safety, sustainability systems, from production consumption. represents transformative approach addressing sector by integrating AI, IoT, methodologies. Unlike traditional which primarily focus on leverages AI for intelligent decision making IoT real-time monitoring, enabling significant advancements areas supply chain optimization, personalized nutrition. This review highlights applications, including computer vision recognition quality assessment, Natural Language Processing recipe analysis, predictive modeling dietary recommendations. Simultaneously, enhances transparency efficiency through data collection, device connectivity. The convergence these relies diverse sources, images, nutritional databases, user-generated logs, are critical traceability tailored solutions. Despite its potential, faces challenges, heterogeneity, privacy concerns, scalability issues, regulatory constraints. To these, this paper explores solutions like federated learning secure on-device processing blockchain transparent traceability. Emerging trends, edge analytics sustainable practices powered AI-IoT integration, also discussed. offers actionable insights advance innovative ethical technological frameworks.

Nowadays, food systems are undergoing major transformations to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, there a lack of comprehensive reviews on this topic in developing countries. This work highlights systems’ transition towards sustainability, focusing Morocco. It was carried out through searching, selecting, evaluating, and synthesizing existing relevant scholarly gray literature. In Morocco, meaningful sustainability is being guided several levels, despite numerous challenges, e.g., inability cope with detrimental effects climate change escalating water scarcity constitute fundamental problems. conflicting views outcomes system transformation. Some studies showed that Morocco has increased its agri-food export reduced poverty less than 5% population over past decade; proportion wasted malnourished children declined from 25 15% 4 3%, respectively, 2023 Global Hunger Index (GHI) score 9.0. Other North Africa entered security crisis; specifically, inflation reached unprecedented levels paper provides valuable insights for policymakers planners design evidence-based policies strategies boost sustainable development

Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the vulnerabilities of global food system, underscoring need for a sustainable transformation system. With advent new digital technologies emerging as critical tools achieving agricultural shift, it is important to understand farmers’ adoption decisions better. This study aims systematically uncover and delineate varied forms experiences farmers have with investigate how these impact organizational on farm. In this study, twenty interviews apple growers, wine makers, intermediaries from German region encompassing Saxony, Thuringia, Saxony–Anhalt were conducted analyzed. Through lens modified adaptive capacity wheel alongside interview data, five relevant types identified. These are closely related adaptation motivation (AM) belief (AB), potentially influencing their future about technologies. highlights importance creating meaningful strengthen AM AB.
