The intensive livestock activities that are carried out worldwide to feed the growing human population have led significant environmental problems, such as soil degradation, surface and groundwater pollution. Livestock wastewater (LW) contains high loads of organic matter, nitrogen (N) phosphorus (P). These compounds can promote cultural eutrophication water bodies pose hazards. Therefore, humanity faces an enormous challenge adequately treat LW avoid overexploitation natural resources. This be accomplished through circular bioeconomy approaches, which aim achieve sustainable production using biological resources, LW, feedstock. Water treatment (WT) is currently among the major areas of research due to depletion water resources and fearmongering regarding environmental pollution, which has compelled upgrading conventional WT technology towards recycling reuse. This review aims provide current state natural coagulants their application in purification surface as sufficient clean required for household needs, health security, safety. A thorough systematic existing literature was performed, information related using compiled from 237 articles under various sections a computerized bibliographic search via PubMed, Scopus, Web Science, Google Scholar, CAB Abstracts, several websites. The work provides explicit merits limitations, outlines methods increase coagulation performance, highlights mechanism, efficacy, valorization potential, sustainability. From obtained, it can be concluded that although chemical are efficient WT, they usually expensive, toxic, associated with issues, thus non-sustainable. sustainable alternative use coagulants, readily available, economical, easy use, biodegradable, non-toxic, eco-friendly, effective, generate lower sludge volumes.
