Results: Lower perceived lower benefits, higher barriers use, being more motivated by female, levels narcissism were uniquely related masks. relation between socially responsible mask-wearing was moderated severity. Namely, predicted but only when also high (with reverse evident for those who as low). Limitations: data relies on self-reports obtained cross-sectionally from university students. Abstract Two direct replication studies were conducted to investigate the associations of psychopathic traits with engagement in COVID‐19 prevention behavior and motivational reasons for engaging such behavior. College undergraduate students completed two self‐report measures based on four‐factor conceptualization psychopathy (callous affect, manipulative tendency, erratic lifestyle, criminal tendency) triarchic (meanness, disinhibition, boldness). Participants then reported degree which they engaged currently past, their self‐focused other‐focused doing so. Results aggregated across both ( N = 292) revealed that reflecting emotional callousness impulsivity independently predicted lower levels Moreover, controlling appreciably reduced negative The results provide insight into points convergence measurement from multiple theoretical perspectives importance considering impact divisive personality motivation protect others during pandemics.

Pursuing personal goals above communally shared interests is incompatible with socially sanctioned norms yet represents the hallmark of high levels dark traits (DT; narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy). One unaddressed question how this conflict affects subjective authenticity, traditionally defined as a natural tendency to perceive present oneself genuine rather than contrived. We review self-concept perceptions may affect interaction their environment, leading more agentic or communal external orientation, affecting behaviours social relations. Acknowledging antisocial tendencies can aid in recognising situational factors that trigger expression concealment "dark self". Machiavellianism related internal self-orientation challenges (e.g. low awareness), whereas narcissism supports functional self-orientation. Previous research has suggested that manipulation and callousness are central to dark traits, but it not identified which specific manifestations expressed across various countries. In the present study, we analyzed a general network structure most relevant items (centrality indices) of interconnection triad traits in 10 For this purpose, used scale widely different contexts such as Short (SD3). The total sample consisted 8093 participants (59.7% women, M(age) = 32.68 years). Regarding graphical representation with spinglass algorithm network, observed distributed clusters Machiavellianism, psychopathy, subclinical narcissism traits. Firstly, related short-term verbal from domain along clever strategic revenge?seeking Machiavellianism cluster, narcissistic motivations establish connections important people, exhibited higher centrality indexes (expected bridge-expected influence). Secondly, predicted were characterized by planned revenge using information against others psychopathic manipulation, belief being special based on external validation. Finally, utilized clique-percolation identify shared characteristics among multiple Through analysis, item was found simultaneously belong psychopathy clusters. Additionally, an overlap This cross-cultural study mainly reveals role also set self-serving approaches toward within system SD3 scale. importance exploring these less considered is emphasized order verify whether findings remain consistent
