Although gratitude is a culturally-sensitive construct, it has yet received limited research attention in Arab countries, hence hindering the understanding of its features, correlates, and cross-cultural specificities. To fill this gap, we sought to examine psychometric properties an Arabic translation 6-item Gratitude Questionnaire (GQ) Arabic-speaking sample adults from general population Lebanon. We conducted web-based survey including 601 participants (mean age 29.91 ± 12.61, 62.7% females). The forward-backward method was used for adaptation GQ-6 into language. Findings indicated that four-item version GQ achieved adequate fit statistics with removal two reverse-scored third sixth items. found McDonald Omega coefficient total 4-item (GQ-4) scores 0.88, thus attesting good reliability scale. Multiple-group Confirmatory Factor Analysis showed scale structure invariant across male female respondents at configural, metric, scalar levels. Females exhibited significantly higher compared males. Finally, discriminant validity GQ-4 evidenced through positive significant correlations social support qualities, suggesting suitable measuring people's disposition toward backgrounds. Offering as brief, simple, cost-effective, valid, reliable measure community could help raise awareness about key component achieving mental health wellbeing contexts.

To examine the cultural limitations and implications in applicability of Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 8-items (DASS-8)-a shortened version DASS-21 recently introduced an Arab sample-this study evaluated its psychometric properties, including measurement invariance, among healthy subjects from United States, Australia, Ghana. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed good fit DASS-8 relative to a 12-item (DASS-12). Both DASS-12 were invariant at all levels across genders, employment status, students vs. non-students. The DASS-8/DASS-12 also expressed invariance configural metric countries, albeit scalar was not maintained due misspecification loadings Ghanian sample. Mann-Whitney U test significantly lower mental symptomatology on DASS measures than English-speaking respondents (both non-students). excellent internal consistency (coefficient alpha = 0.89), convergent validity-noted by high values item-total correlations (

Background: Several instruments are currently used to assess Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) -induced psychological distress, including the 22-item Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R). The IES-R is a self-administered scale post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). current study aimed examine construct validity IES-R, based on Rasch model, with COVID-19-related data, as well test multilevel within and among countries during pandemic crisis. Methods: A multi-country web-based cross-sectional survey was conducted utilizing IES-R. total 1020 participants enrolled in our survey, whom 999 were included analyses. Data analyzed using modeling confirmatory factor analysis (MCFA). Results: results demonstrated that satisfactory instrument five-point Likert scale, asserting its 22 items significant contributors assessing PTSD unidimensional covered by MCFA confirmed three factors, intrusion, avoidance, hyperarousal, demonstrates adequate at within- among-country levels. Abstract The global trend of advanced aging comes at the cost amplified onset age-related diseases. Dementia is a common multifactorial neurodegenerative disorder, which manifests with progressive declines in cognitive functioning and ability to perform activities daily living. As polices discourage institutionalized care, family members act as primary caregivers endure increased vulnerability physical mental health problems secondary care-related changes life routine relationships. Targeting clinically significant distress earlier stages through valid brief measures may promote caregivers’ wellbeing dementia care continuity/quality. This study aimed determine optimal cutoff score Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 8-items (DASS-8) convenience sample 571 European (Mean age = 53 ± 12 years, Italian 74.4%, Swiss 25.6%) three methods. K-means clustering classified into high- low-distress clusters based on DASS-8 19. Receiver operator curve (ROC) analysis using 48 7 cutoffs Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI) Three-Item University California, Los Angeles, Loneliness Scale-version 3 (UCLALS3), revealed two (12.5 14.5, area under (AUC) 0.85 0.92, p values < .001, 95% CI 0.82–0.88 0.89 0.94, sensitivity 0.81 0.78, specificity 0.76 0.89, Youden index 0.57 0.67, respectively). Decision modeling produced (9.5 14.5) for predicting low high caregiving burden loneliness, respectively. According median all (14.5) prevalence was 50.8%. Distress correlated key such burnout loneliness—in path analysis, scores were predicted by ZBI, UCLALS3, dependency, receiving help especially among older, female, spouse caregivers. Further diagnostic workup should follow confirm psycho-pathogenicity above 14.5. Investigations other countries/populations validity this score.

The Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic has provoked the development of negative emotions in almost all societies since it first broke out late 2019. Impact Event Scale-Revised (IES-R) is widely used to capture emotions, thoughts, and behaviors evoked by traumatic events, including COVID-19 as a collective persistent event. However, there less agreement on structure IES-R, signifying need for further investigation. This study aimed evaluate psychometric properties Arabic version IES-R among individuals Saudi quarantine settings, psychiatric patients, general public during outbreak. Exploratory factor analysis revealed that items present five factors with eigenvalues > 1. Examination several competing models through confirmatory resulted best fit six-factor structure, which comprises avoidance, intrusion, numbing, hyperarousal, sleep problems, irritability/dysphoria. Multigroup supported configural, metric, scalar invariance this model across groups gender, age, marital status. significantly correlated Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-8, perceived health status, vulnerability COVID-19, denoting good criterion validity. HTMT ratios subscales were below 0.85, discriminant values coefficient alpha three samples ranged between 0.90 0.93. In path analysis, intrusion hyperarousal had direct positive effects sleep, irritability. Numbing irritability mediated indirect avoidance. result signifies cognitive activation main driving dynamics underlying behavioral, emotional, symptoms trauma. findings support robust validity indicating sound measure can be applied wide range experiences.
