In
recent
years,
mindfulness-based
interventions
(MBIs)
have
been
widely
applied
in
competition
sports
with
respect
to
athletic
performance
and
mental
health
promotion,
whereas
evidence
of
randomized
controlled
trials
(RCTs)
has
not
well
summarized.
Therefore,
this
study
aimed
systematically
review
meta-analyze
the
existing
on
effects
MBIs
improving
performance,
mindfulness
level,
mindfulness-related
psychological
components
(e.g.,
acceptance,
self-compassion,
flow),
burnout,
stress,
well-being)
among
athletes.
Following
PRISMA
guidelines,
a
literature
search
was
implemented
five
electronic
databases
(Web
Science,
PubMed,
Scopus,
ProQuest,
ScienceDirect)
relevant
papers.
The
article
selection,
risk
bias
assessment,
data
extraction
were
performed
by
two
investigators
independently.

The
presented
study
evaluates
the
evidence
base
underpinning
use
of
Mindfulness–Acceptance–Commitment
approach
(MAC)
in
applied
sport
psychology.
To
assess
effectiveness
MAC
protocol
on
improving
mindfulness
and
psychological
flexibility,
enhancing
performance
well-being
among
athletes,
we
used

Meta-Analysis
