The
Burnout
Assessment
Tool
(BAT)
is
a
new
measure
of
burnout
that
was
developed
to
address
the
shortcomings
existing
instruments.
This
study
investigates
psychometric
properties
Lithuanian
version
(BAT-LT).
In
total,
408
adult
workers
were
surveyed
(the
mean
age
35.94
years;
68.6
per
cent
female;
43.9
held
managerial
positions).
Participants
came
from
different
sectors
economic
activity.
results
showed
BAT-LT
had
good
factorial
validity,
indicating
BAT-LT’s
four
subscales
(exhaustion,
cognitive
impairment,
emotional
and
mental
distance)
can
be
combined
into
single
score.
Moreover,
Cronbach’s
alpha
values
indicate
reliability
for
all
six
core
secondary
symptoms
scales.
Furthermore,
confirmed
could
differentiated
job
boredom,
workaholism,
work
engagement
depression.
Finally,
measurement
invariance
across
status
sector
observed.

Abstract
Background
The
Burnout
Assessment
Tool
(BAT)
is
a
new
burnout
measure
developed
to
replace
the
Maslach
Inventory
(MBI).
Studies
have
supported
psychometric
properties
and
cross-cultural
measurement
invariance
of
BAT.
However,
some
unresolved
questions
remain.
These
are
appropriate
level
score
interpretation,
convergent
validity
with
MBI,
using
sample
groups
from
countries
outside
Europe.
Methods
We
used
cross-sectional
survey
approach
obtain
794
participants
Australia
(
n
=
200),
Netherlands
199),
South
Africa
197),
United
States
198).
In
brief,
we
bifactor
modelling
investigate
interpretation
MBI.
Hereafter,
Rasch
model
ordinal
logistic
regression
differential
item
functioning.
Results
showed
large
general
factor

small
group
factors,

suggests
calculating
interpreting

BAT

Objective

Health

recognizes
burnout
as
