Abstract Despite alternative work arrangements becoming more prevalent, existing design approaches are mostly based on research and practice of traditional on‐site work. Struggles with capturing employee performance reported across different off‐site, non‐traditional forms work, such as remote hybrid. This article performs a comprehensive fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis to juxtaposing configurations job characteristics Our multi‐source study is matched sample 1215 diverse working personnel (with supervisors, who evaluated performance) in Montenegro. Based the pathways leading task we develop propositions centered key principles designing alternative, While confirm importance enriched design, several specific their accompanying (including compensatory effects) highlighted regard achieved. These include high levels identity for all three (on‐site, hybrid remote). Work performed setting additionally requires greater variety. Conversely, information processing social support. Abstract Aims To investigate the interrelationships of patient safety, caring behaviours, professional self‐efficacy and missed nursing care among emergency room nurses. Design Cross‐sectional, correlational study. Methods Filipino nurses ( n = 345) participated via convenience sampling from September 2023 to January 2024. Four validated self‐report scales were used collect data analysed using Spearman rho, covariance‐based structural equation modelling, mediation path analyses. Results The emerging model study variables displayed satisfactory fit indices. Patient safety directly influenced behaviours self‐efficacy, while negatively influencing care. Caring indirectly affected care, respectively. Professional influences Finally, significant mediators between association Conclusion demonstrated mediating effects that can potentially improve practices thereby minimizing unfinished or Implications for Profession and/or Care Nurses healthcare organizations should commit consistently maintain a workplace culture fosters minimize avoidable injuries omitting tasks. Design/methodology/approach A total of 250 responses were gathered via an online survey applying a purposive sampling method. The derived data analysed using partial least squares-structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) SmartPLS 4. Findings Job positively influences sleep problems occupational stress, while resources impact autonomy. research analysis also confirms positive effect stress fatigue. Furthermore, reveals negative autonomy In-depth mediation sequential effects as determinants Practical implications Besides enriching literature fatigue, findings provide practical insights to maritime agencies develop effective policy reduce seafarers.
