Neurodegenerative diseases (NDs) are characterized by abnormalities within neurons of the brain or spinal cord that gradually lose function, eventually leading to cell death. ABSTRACT Neurodegenerative diseases (NDs) are characterized by progressive neuronal loss and dysfunction, leading to significant cognitive motor impairments. The disruption of the blood–brain barrier (BBB) integrity, a key regulator central nervous system homeostasis, emerges as critical factor in pathogenesis these disorders. Accumulating evidence implicates non‐coding RNAs, particularly microRNAs (miRNAs) long RNAs (lncRNAs), BBB regulation. However, intricate network governing dysfunction consequent neurodegeneration remains obscure. This systematic review maps convergent microRNA networks Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, unveiling their putative roles modulation. We analyzed data from 11 peer‐reviewed clinical studies, identifying miRNAs such hsa‐miR‐155, hsa‐miR‐22, hsa‐miR‐146a, hsa‐miR‐100‐3p, hsa‐miR‐182‐5p regulators permeability inflammatory responses. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic demyelinating autoimmune neurodegenerative disorder for which no specific blood biomarker available. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have been investigated their diagnostic potential in MS. However, MS-associated miRNAs are rarely replicated different MS populations, thus impeding use clinical testing. Abstract Background Small RNA molecules known as microRNAs (miRNAs) regulate gene expression during the post-translational steps. miRNAs are essential for many physiological processes, such cell division, growth, and proliferation, well development metabolism. Aims To review developments in investigations on miR-155 miR-146a possible biomarkers multiple sclerosis (MS) disease diagnosis prognosis. Methods A comprehensive analysis of available literature was carried out by searching databases including PubMed, Scopus, Web Science papers published between 2011 2023 years. Only original articles written English language were considered inclusion this review. Results total 29 studies initially identified, with 14 meeting criteria. Conclusion The present study underscores crucial role microRNAs, particularly miR-146a, etiology progression (MS). Through an extensive literature, we have found compelling evidence linking aberrations function these to MS pathogenesis.
