Abstract Background The impact of integrated lifestyles on health has attracted a lot attention. It remains unclear whether adherence to low-risk healthy lifestyle factors is protective in individuals with metabolic syndrome and syndrome-like characteristics. We aimed explore what extent overall scores mitigate the risk all-cause mortality Methods In total, 6934 participants from 2007 2014 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) were included. weighted score was constructed based smoking, alcohol consumption, physical activity, diet, sleep duration, sedentary behavior information. Generalized linear regression models restricted cubic splines used analyze association between mortality. Results Compared relatively low scores, ratio (RR) middle group 0.51 (RR = 0.51, 95% CI 0.30–0.88) , high 0.26 0.26, 0.15–0.48) population syndrome. difference gender persists. females, RRs groups 0.47 0.47, 0.23–0.96) 0.21 0.21, 0.09–0.46), respectively. males, by contrast, effect more pronounced 0.33, 0.13–0.83) effects found be likely. those aged < 65 years. Higher associated prominent effects, regardless presence one factor or combination several 15 groups. What's more, an emerging than that conventional lifestyle. Conclusions Adherence can reduce people characteristics; higher score, obvious effect. Our study highlights modification as highly effective nonpharmacological approach deserves further generalization.

Maternal diets during pregnancy and lactation are key determinants that regulate the development of metabolic syndrome (MetS) in offspring. l-malic acid (MA) was previously reported to improve antioxidant capacity aerobic metabolism. However, effects maternal MA consumption on features offspring remain largely unexplored. Herein, through pig models consuming MA-enriched late lactation, we found potentiated anti-inflammatory sows, thereby improving their reproductive performance growth piglets. also induced a transition slow-twitch fast-twitch fibers early life Along with muscle fiber-type transition, insulin sensitivity glucose metabolism, including metabolism glycolysis, were improved skeletal An untargeted metabolomic analysis further revealed contribution modified amino Mechanistically, remodeled colonic microbiota Briefly, abundance Colidextribacter, Romboutsia, Family_XIII_AD3011_group increased, which positively associated muscles. A decreased Prevotella, Blautia, Prevotellaceae_NK3B31_group, Collinsella detected, involved less sensitivity. Notably, milk metabolites, such as ascorbic (AA) granisetron (GS), effectors regulating gut composition The properties AA GS alleviating resistance, inflammation, oxidative stress verified mice treated high-fat diets. Overall, this study could modulate inflammatory response, capacity, by vertical transmission metabolites. These findings suggest potential prevention treatment MetS life.

Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a worldwide public health issue characterized by set of risk factors for cardiovascular disease. MetS can originate in early life developmental programming. Increasing evidence suggests that oxidative stress, which as an imbalance between reactive oxygen species (ROS), nitric oxide (NO), and antioxidant systems, plays decisive role Results from human animal studies indicate maternal-derived insults induce later life, accompanied stress programming various organ systems. On the contrary, perinatal use antioxidants offset thereby prevent traits adult offspring. This review provides overview current knowledge about core mechanisms behind programming, with particular focus on occurrence oxidative-stress-related pathogenesis well potential oxidative-stress-targeted interventions reprogramming strategy to avert origins. Future clinical should provide important proof concept effectiveness these epidemic.
