The relationship between the chemical structures of six flavonoids and their abilities to inhibit formation polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in a heated meat model system was investigated. PAH8 forming samples analyzed by using QuEChERS coupled GC-MS. Inhibitory effects PAHs were myricetin (72.1%) > morin (55.7%) quercetin (57.3%) kaempferol (49.9%) rutin (32.7%) taxifolin (30.2%). antioxidant activities these flavonoids, assessed through (1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) free radical scavenging activity assay (DPPH), [2,2′-azinobis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid)] (ABTS) ferric ion reducing power (FRAP) assays, exhibited significant negative correlation with PAH reduction. Notably, that contained three hydroxyl groups on B-ring, along 2,3-double bond conjugation 4-keto moiety C-ring, demonstrated strong properties abilities, which significantly contributed ability formation. However, taxifolin, substituted at C-3 position decreased inhibitory activity. ABTS proved most effective demonstrating flavonoid capacity systems. Thus, inhibition can be achieved dietary according structures.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common endocrine diseases in women reproductive age and features complex pathological symptoms mechanisms. Existing medical treatments have, to some extent, alleviated deterioration PCOS. However, these strategies only temporarily control symptoms, with a few side effects no preventive effect. Phytochemicals extracted from medicinal herbs plants are vital for discovering novel drugs. In recent years, many kinds research have proven that phytochemicals isolated traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) show significant potential preventing, alleviating, treating Nevertheless, compared abundance experimental literature minimal specific-topic reviews related PCOS, there lack systematic summarize advancements this promising field. Under background, we systematically document progress bioactive TCM including flavonoids, polyphenols, alkaloids. According literature, valuable demonstrated therapeutic on PCOS supported by vivo vitro experiments, mainly depending anti-inflammatory, antioxidation, improvement hormone disorder insulin resistance (IR), alleviation hyperinsulinemia. Based current progress, future directions should emphasize 1) exploring potentially mediate bone metabolism treatment PCOS; 2) improving unsatisfactory bioavailability using advanced drug delivery systems such as nanoparticles antibody-conjugated drugs, well chemical modification; 3) conducting in-depth pathogenesis impact gut microbiota its metabolites evolution 4) revealing pharmacological at genetic level; 5) hypothetical unprecedented functions regulating serving proteolysis-targeting chimeras molecular glues small molecule brief, review aims provide detailed mechanisms hopefully practical reliable insight into clinical applications concerning

The emphasis on healthy nutrition is gaining a forefront place in current biomedical sciences. Nutritional deficiencies and imbalances have been widely demonstrated to be involved the genesis development of many world-scale public health burdens, such as metabolic cardiovascular diseases. In recent years, bee pollen emerging scientifically validated candidate, which can help diminish conditions through nutritional interventions. This matrix being extensively studied, has proven very rich well-balanced nutrient pool. this work, we reviewed available evidence interest source. We mainly focused richness nutrients its possible roles main pathophysiological processes that are directly linked imbalances. scoping review analyzed scientific works published last four focusing clearest inferences perspectives translate cumulated experimental preclinical into clinically relevant insights. promising uses for malnutrition, digestive health, disorders, other bioactivities could helpful readjust homeostasis (as it also true case anti-inflammatory or anti-oxidant needs), well benefits diseases, were identified. knowledge gaps identified, along with practical challenges hinder establishment fructification these uses. A complete data collection made major range botanical species allows more robust clinical information.

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of the leading killers. Apigenin (Api) and Naringenin (Nar) are natural bioactive substances obtained in various vegetables fruits, possessing anti-tumor effects across multiple studies. This study investigated latent synergistic antiproliferative functions Api Nar A549 H1299 NSCLC cells. Cell viability was determined after incubating with different concentrations Api, Nar, or combination (CoAN) for 24 h. Analysis using CompuSyn software revealed that CI value each combined dose < 1, depicting two drugs had a inhibitory effect. The CoAN (A:N = 3:2) group lowest selected subsequent experiments. IC50 used to determine cycle, expression ratio Bax Bcl2, Caspase 3 activity, mitochondrial function assess oxidative stress apoptosis. results established treatment caused significant cytotoxicity cycle arrest at G2/M phases. Furthermore, significantly enhanced mitochondria dysfunction, elevated stress, activated apoptotic pathway versus alone groups. Thus, chemotherapy approach promising deserves further research.

Aurones are a small subgroup of flavonoids in which the basic C6–C3–C6 skeleton is arranged as (Z)-2-benzylidenebenzofuran-3(2H)-one. These compounds structural isomers flavones and flavonols, natural products reported potent inhibitors SARS-CoV-2 replication. Herein, we report design, synthesis, anti-SARS-CoV-2 activity series 25 aurones bearing different oxygenated groups (OH, OCH3, OCH2OCH3, OCH2O, OCF2H, OCH2C6H4R) at A- and/or B-rings using cell-based screening assays. We observed that 12 exhibit EC50 < 3 μM (8e, 8h, 8j, 8k, 8l, 8m, 8p, 8q, 8r, 8w, 8x, 8y), five presented 1 (8h, 8w) without evident cytotoxic effect Calu-3 cells. The substitution B-ring with OCF2H seems beneficial for antiviral activity, while corresponding phenolic derivatives showed significant decrease activity. most compound series, aurone 8q (EC50 = 0.4 μM, SI 2441.3), 2 to times more effective than polyphenolic myricetin (2) baicalein (1), respectively. Investigation active 3CLpro based on molecular dynamic calculations suggested these should detach from site 3CLpro, and, probably, they could bind another protein target (either receptor or enzyme).
