This study aimed to explore the effect and mechanism of baicalin on L-glutamate-induced oxidative stress injury in hippocampus mice. Forty mice were divided into five groups:Sham, model, N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) (BA-7.5 mg/kg BA-15 mg/kg). A model excitatory amino acid toxicity with was induced by injecting L-glutamate lateral ventricle. Drugs administered intraperitoneally post-modelling. Six hours later, behavioural tests performed. Brain lesions observed via HE staining, neuronal apoptosis evaluated using TUNEL staining. The levels superoxide dismutase (SOD) malondialdehyde (MDA) determined biochemical methods. Fluorescent staining employed detect expression reactive oxygen species (ROS). Cytochrome C (CytC) assessed immunohistochemistry. Nrf2, HO-1, SOD2 catalase (Cat) detected qPCR WB. showed that motion distance pain threshold reduced group. MDA, ROS CytC increased, while SOD Cat decreased after modelling. CA3 region exhibited pathological changes, rate TUNEL-positive increased. Baicalin could reverse these especially BA-7.5 mg/kg. can reduce L-glutamate, might be related activation Nrf2/HO-1 pathway.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a persistent autoimmune disorder that characterized by joint inflammation, discomfort, and impairment. Despite the existence of several therapeutic approaches, their effectiveness often restricted may be linked to unfavorable side effects. Consequently, there has been growing interest in investigating naturally derived compounds as plausible agents for RA disease. The objective this review summarize existing preclinical clinical evidence regarding efficacy extracted plant extracts treatment RA, focusing on anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative, immunomodulatory properties. Some problems with using natural chemicals are uneven quality commercially available preparations poor bioavailability these compounds. Future investigations should focus improving formulations, conducting thorough trials, exploring different techniques fully utilize intrinsic potential treating RA.

The prevalence of colorectal cancer is increasing worldwide, and despite advances in treatment, (CRC) remains the top three for mortality due to several issues, including drug resistance low efficiency. There evidence that baicalin baicalein, novel small molecule inhibitor extracts Chinese herb Scutellaria baicalensis, have better anti-colorectal effects are less likely induce cells. present review article explains anti-proliferative properties baicalein context against CRC. Additionally, it explores underlying mechanisms by which these compounds modulate diverse signaling pathways associated with apoptosis, cell proliferation, tumor angiogenesis, invasion, metastasis, microenvironment. Moreover, this highlights inhibitory effect inflammatory-cancer transformation near-term therapeutic strategy using them as adjuvant agents chemotherapy.

We previously demonstrated that baicalin had efficacy against gouty arthritis (GA) by oral administration. In this paper, a novel baicalin-loaded microemulsion-based gel (B-MEG) was prepared and assessed for the transdermal delivery of GA. The preparation method capability B-MEG screened optimized using central composite design, Franz diffusion cell experiments, split-split plot design. Skin irritation tests were performed in guinea pigs. anti-gout effects evaluated mice. comprised 50 % pH 7.4 phosphate buffered saline, 4.48 ethyl oleate, 31.64 tween 80, 13.88 glycerin, 2 borneol, 0.5 clove oil xanthan gum, with content (10.42 ± 0.08) mg/g particle size (15.71 0.41) nm. The blood-brain barrier (BBB) is a crucial structure that maintains brain homeostasis by regulating the entry of molecules and cells from bloodstream into central nervous system (CNS). Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's Parkinson's disease, well ischemic stroke, compromise integrity BBB. This leads to increased permeability infiltration harmful substances, thereby accelerating neurodegeneration. In this review, we explore mechanisms underlying BBB disruption, including oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, vascular dysfunction, loss tight junction integrity, in patients with neurodegenerative diseases. We discuss how breakdown contributes neurotoxicity, abnormal accumulation pathological proteins, all which exacerbate neuronal damage facilitate disease progression. Furthermore, potential therapeutic strategies aimed at preserving or restoring function, anti-inflammatory treatments, antioxidant therapies, approaches enhance integrity. Given role neurodegeneration, maintaining its represents promising approach slow prevent progression

Ischemic stroke, caused by blocked cerebral blood flow, requires prompt intervention to prevent severe motor and cognitive impairments. Despite extensive drug development efforts, the failure rate of clinical trials remains high, highlighting need for novel therapeutic approaches. This study investigated potential a natural herbal extract mixture Astragalus mongholicus Bunge (AM) Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi (SB), traditionally used in Eastern Asian medicine (EAHM) ischemic stroke treatment. Using transient middle artery occlusion (tMCAO) photothrombotic (PTB) mouse models, oral administration AM-SB was evaluated during both acute chronic phases. Results showed that significantly reduced infarction volume, inflammation (IL-1β, TNF-α), pyroptosis-related markers (NLRP3, GSDMD, ASC, Caspase-1), while decreasing gliosis improving metabolites. Behavioral assessments revealed early sustained enhanced functions, as measured mNSS, Rotarod, Novel Object Recognition, Passive Avoidance tests. These findings suggest is promising alternative therapy management.
