The human microbiota constitute a very complex ecosystem of microorganisms inhabiting both the inside and outside our bodies, in which health maintenance disease modification are main regulatory features. recent explosion microbiome research has begun to detail its important role neurological health, particularly concerning cerebral small vessel (CSVD), disorder associated with cognitive decline vascular dementia. This narrative review represents state-of-the-art knowledge intimate, interplay between brain through gut-brain axis (GBA) emerging glymphatic system dysfunction (glymphopathy) circulating cell-derived microparticles (MPs) as mediators these interactions. We discuss how microbial dysbiosis promotes neuroinflammation, dysfunction, impaired waste clearance brain, critical factors pathogenesis CSVD. Further, we lifestyle that shape composition functionality microbiota, focusing on sleep modifiable risk factor disorders. presents from neuroscientific perspective establish future therapeutic avenues targeting improve reduce burden

Objective: Hypertension development and progression are largely influenced by inflammation, which plays a critical role activating the immune system causing damage to vascular endothelium. Metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is also associated with chronic low-grade drives via metabolic imbalances adipose tissue dysfunction. This study investigates relationship between inflammatory indices MAFLD in hypertensive patients assesses predictive accuracy of these for MAFLD. Methods: We performed cross-sectional analysis involving 34,303 from Chinese hospital-based registry. The diagnosis was established using dysfunction criteria alongside evidence hepatic steatosis confirmed through imaging. Complete blood counts were used calculate indices, including monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte (PLR), systemic response index (SIRI), immune-inflammation (SII), aggregate inflammation (AISI). To assess MAFLD, multivariable logistic regression adjustments potential confounders. diagnostic performance analyzed receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves area under curve (AUC) calculations. Results: Patients exhibited significantly elevated levels all compared those without. After adjustment, each standard deviation increase AISI, SIRI, SII 74%, 62%, 58% increased odds respectively. AUC AISI 0.659, indicating moderate accuracy. AUCs SIRI 0.626 0.619, respectively, while NLR, PLR, MLR had lower 0.593, 0.558, 0.589, Conclusion: In patients, especially show strong association their utility risk stratification within clinical settings. Metabolic-Associated Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD) is a clinical-pathological scenario that occurs due to the accumulation of triglycerides in hepatocytes which considered significant cause liver conditions and contributes an increased risk death worldwide. Even though possible causes MAFLD can involve interaction genetics, hormones, nutrition, lifestyle (diet sedentary lifestyle) most influential factor developing this condition. Polyphenols comprise many natural chemical compounds be helpful managing metabolic diseases. Therefore, aim review was investigate impact oxidative stress, inflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, role polyphenols MAFLD. Some reverse part damage related or among them are anthocyanin, baicalin, catechin, curcumin, chlorogenic acid, didymin, epigallocatechin-3-gallate, luteolin, mangiferin, puerarin, punicalagin, resveratrol, silymarin. These have actions reducing plasma enzymes, body mass index, waist circumference, adipose visceral indices, lipids, glycated hemoglobin, insulin resistance, HOMA index. They also reduce nuclear factor-KB (NF-KB), interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), blood pressure, fat content, steatosis fibrosis. Melatonin is indispensable for the homeostasis of plants and animals. In humans, it can help prevent or be an adjuvant treatment several diseases mainly related to immune system, inflammation, oxidative stress. Moreover, a melatonin-rich diet linked health benefits, such as regulation circadian rhythm, immunological epilepsy control, delaying aging process, diminishing hormones cancer. This review aimed show effects melatonin in beyond its traditional use. The results showed present scavenging free radicals, reducing inflammatory cytokines, modulating system. improve insulin resistance, blood pressure, LDL-c, adipose tissue mass, adhesion molecules, endothelial impairment, plaque formation. These result neuro- cardioprotection, improvement liver diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, dermatitis, COVID-19, polycystic ovaries, sepsis. We conclude that plant benefit patients with many besides sleep problems neurodegeneration. Plant may more cost-effective fewer adverse events than synthetic. However, clinical trials should performed adequate doses, formulation, time.

Objective To explore the correlation of dietary index for gut microbiota (DI-GM) with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Methods Data 6,711 participants were extracted from National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) during 2007–2018. A weighted logistic regression analysis was employed assessment DI-GM NAFLD, a restricted cubic spline (RCS) implemented to examine potential non-linear associations. Subgroup analyses conducted identify particularly susceptible groups. Additionally, synergistic effects different components on NAFLD risk assessed by quantile sum (WQS) regression. Results The exhibited statistically significant [OR (95%CI):0.91 (0.85, 0.98), p = 0.015]. results RCS indicated linear ( 0.810 non-linearity). Further stratified that negative consistent all subgroups. WQS revealed soybean (27%), refined grains (17%), coffee (16%), red meat (9%) had highest contribution weights NAFLD. Conclusion As an important tool influences diet microbiota, is negatively correlated factors. Soybean, grains, coffee, are key factors influencing direct shall be explored effectiveness prevention treatment evaluated improving scores via interventions.

Background: The role of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) in sleeve gastrectomy (SG)-related outcomes remains uncertain. In this study, we aimed to assess the influence preoperative biopsy-proven MASLD and its stages on weight loss after SG. Methods: One hundred sixty-three patients with obesity undergoing SG concomitant intraoperative biopsy were followed up for 1 year. Fifty-eight participants categorized as no MASLD, thirty-eight (MASL), sixty-seven steatohepatitis (MASH). Percentage total (%TWL) percentage excess (%EWL) year calculated different groups. We also evaluated association between (and stages) loss, adjusting potential confounders. Results: Significant differences among groups detected %EWL (p = 0.004, ANOVA test), but not %TWL 0.079). However, significant found when MASH (i.e., MASL without MASLD) compared (27.3 ± 9.9 vs. 30.7 9, respectively, p 0.025). linear regression model predicting SG, presence was independently associated a lower %EWL, age, sex, baseline body mass index (BMI), glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) (Beta −7.1; 95% CI −13.6, −0.5; 0.035). fibrosis, or advanced fibrosis (≥F2) crude models, although they did remain these inversely related %TWL, adjustment −2.7; −5.7, 0.2; 0.069). Conclusions: may be obesity.
