Natural products are compounds produced by living organisms and can be divided into two main categories: primary (PMs) secondary metabolites (SMs). Plant PMs crucial for plant growth reproduction since they directly involved in cell processes, whereas SMs organic substances defense resistance. three groups: terpenoids, phenolics nitrogen-containing compounds. The contain a variety of biological capabilities that used as flavoring agents, food additives, plant-disease control, strengthen defenses against herbivores and, additionally, it help cells to better adapted the physiological stress response. current review is mainly focusing on certain key elements related significance, biosynthesis, classification, biochemical characterization medical/pharmaceutical uses major categories SMs. In addition, usefulness controlling diseases, boosting resistance potential natural, safe, eco-friendly substitutes chemosynthetic pesticides were also reported this review.

Plants have various self-defense mechanisms against biotic attacks, involving both physical and chemical barriers. Physical barriers include spines, trichomes, cuticle layers, whereas secondary metabolites (SMs) volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Complex interactions between plants herbivores occur. Plant responses to insect herbivory begin with the perception of stimuli, (orally secreted by insects herbivore-induced VOCs) during feeding. cell membranes then generate ion fluxes that create differences in plasma membrane potential (Vm), which provokes initiation signal transduction, activation hormones (e.g., jasmonic acid, salicylic ethylene), release VOCs SMs. This review recent studies plant-herbivore-infection focuses on early late plant responses, including barriers, SM production as well epigenetic regulation, phytohormone responses.

The production of sustainable crops and environmental management in farming face several significant potential obstacles, including climate change, resource depletion degradation. Weeds insect pests that considerably reduce yields have put crop systems danger. greatest worry for farmers is the decline productivity due to illnesses pests. Insects, weed pests, plant pathogens destroy more than 40% all food every year. widespread use integrated pest (IPM) a result worries about long-term viability conventional agriculture. IPM ensures sufficient, secure, equitable, steady flows both ecosystem services, as well increased agricultural profitability lower expenditures. A number studies conducted on been combined. Important information from these was analyzed summarized this literature review. In article, we investigated following: (1) explanation different components; (2) development organically management, with possible ramifications scope; (3) knowledge adaptation status modern world; (4) resources tools IPM; (5) current challenges suggested future research priorities. Regular training related should be arranged spread farmer levels. This requires cooperation government. Furthermore, will reach new milestone if Internet Things technology practiced along existing control method. Overall, review addresses possibilities researchers variety natural agents full or partial replacement synthetic pesticides.

The problems of the environment and human health related to use synthetic broad-spectrum insecticides have increasingly motivated scientific research on different alternatives among these, green systems, such as essential oils, been explored. Several species Apiaceae Asteraceae families, aromatic herbs rich in secondary bioactive metabolites, are used industrial field for pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food purposes. Different oils extracted from some these families shown acute toxicity attractive and/or repellent effects towards insects. In our work, we investigated toxic potential Calendula incana subsp. maritima Laserpitium siler siculum against four insect species, Sitophilus oryzae, Lasioderma serricorne, Necrobia rufipes, Rhyzoperta dominica, which common pests stored products. composition both by hydrodistillation aerial parts two plants, was evaluated GC×GC-MS. oil oxygenated sesquiterpenoids, cubebol (35.39%), 4-epi-cubebol (22.99%), cubenol (12.77%), while composed mainly monoterpene hydrocarbons, β-phellandrene (42.16%), limonene (23.87%), β-terpinene (11.80%). Petri dish bioassays indicated that C. killed a mean 65.50% S. oryzae 44.00% R. dominica adults, indicating higher biocidal activity comparison with L. oil, toward other no significant differences mortality were recorded. could be, then, considered promising candidate further tests an alternative biocide dominica. possibility relatively high content sesquiterpenoids determines its is discussed.

Importantly, fate, distribution, efficacy any nanopesticide is linked interfacial attributes dynamic interactions between outer surfaces – cuticle plants insects. This review starts with an outline diverse pathways facilitating accumulation on plant cuticles, including their eventual transfer cuticles insect pests. Subsequently, comprehensive overview provided micro- nano-scale morphological features characteristic along implications these hold various nanopesticides. The then focuses mediated through cuticle. Finally, nanoscale mechanistic processes are discussed, emphasis aspects such as wetting dynamics, critical length scales (e.g., inter-crystal spacing waxes surface wavelengths), interdigitation molecular adhesion long-chain macromolecular nanocarriers. Collectively, elucidates essential governing entities. concluding section provides prevailing challenges potential avenues understanding transport deposition mechanisms
