To our knowledge, no studies so far have investigated the role of pizza and its ingredients in modulating disease activity rheumatoid arthritis (RA). We assessed this question via a recent cross-sectional study including 365 participants from Italy, birthplace pizza. Multiple robust linear logistic regression models were fitted with tertile consumption categories each available pizza-related food item/group (i.e., pizza, refined grains, mozzarella cheese, olive oil) as independent variables, RA measure Disease Activity Score on 28 joints C-reactive protein (DAS28-CRP), Simplified Index (SDAI)) dependent variable. Stratified analyses carried out according to severity or duration. Participants eating half >1 time/week (vs. ≤2 times/month) reported beneficial effects activity, significant reductions ~70% (overall analysis), 80% (the more severe stratum), beta coefficients −0.70 for DAS28-CRP, −3.6 SDAI analysis) −1.10 −5.30 (in long-standing RA, respectively). Among items/groups, cheese oil showed effects, especially stratum. Future cohort are needed confirm effect related items/groups activity.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune inflammatory disease characterized by joint inflammation, swelling and pain. Although RA mainly affects the joints, can also have systemic implications. The presence of autoantibodies, such as anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies rheumatoid factors, hallmark disease. significant cause disability worldwide associated with advancing age, genetic predisposition, infectious agents, obesity smoking, among other risk factors. Currently, treatment depends on anti-inflammatory disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs intended to reduce inflammation pain, preventing or slowing down damage progression. However, these are severe side effects upon long-term use, including immunosuppression development opportunistic infections. Natural products, namely triterpenes properties, shown relevant anti-arthritic activity in several animal models without undesirable effects. Therefore, this review covers recent studies (2017-2022) safe promising drug candidates for RA. These bioactive compounds were able produce reduction indices immunological markers. Celastrol, betulinic acid, nimbolide some ginsenosides stand out most treatment.

Abstract Studies on the trends in prevalence of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA) are limited, particularly during COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed to analyze temporal trend RA OA South Korean adults from 1998 2021, including pandemic period. The Korea National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) data aged ≥ 19 years were analyzed investigate 2021. compared by years, β diff (β difference) was calculated. Odds ratios (ORs) computed for each disease examine changes before order determine impact prevalence. Among 163,221 adults, showed a steady decrease 2005 (RA: 1.91% 2005–2007 1.55% 2016–2019 OA: 9.75% 8.27% 2016–2019), but there slight increased after onset 1.23% 2020 1.36% 2021 8.04% 2021). Vulnerable groups, participants 60 (versus 19–60 ratio ORs: 1.222; 95% CI 1.011–1.477), urban residents (ratio 1.289; 1.007–1.650), with higher education level 1.360; 1.119–1.653) ORs OA, whereas no vulnerable population observed RA. Our findings provide an insight into long-term among adult highlight novel perspective

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) affects approximately 1% of the global population. Its hallmark symptoms include severe pain and joint stiffness, which significantly diminish life quality. RA’s development is influenced by multiple factors including unhealthy lifestyle habits. Calorie-rich diets, particularly those high in fat resulting obesity, are associated with RA exacerbate its symptoms. Consequently, dietary modifications recommended as a complementary treatment. However, adherence often low due to restrictive changes required nutrient composition or caloric intake. Our previous findings indicate that time-restricted feeding (TRF) benefits leukocyte rhythm mitigates autoimmune responses. In this study we explored impact TRF on severity K/BxN serum-transfer (STA) mice subjected high-fat diet. Three schedules were implemented: control (Ctrl) constant access standard chow, diet group (HF) ad libitum food access, (HF-TRF) 10-hour window during active phase. After four weeks conditioning, STA was induced. Although macroscopic markers inflammation did not differ between Ctrl HF groups, histological analysis revealed increased mice, expanded edema, pannus formation, bone erosion, elevated synovial neutrophil infiltration serum leptin levels. Importantly, all these inflammatory reduced HF-TRF group, along IL-1β monocyte/macrophage counts. results can severity, potentially serving preventive method sustainable therapeutic support for management.

Objectives Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease significantly impacting patients’ quality of life (QoL) and necessitating complex, long-term treatment. This study aimed to assess the therapeutic outcomes biologic therapies in real-world clinical setting, focusing on achievement maintenance low activity (LDA) among RA patients, while also investigating factors influencing these outcomes. Material methods A retrospective observational analysis was conducted 190 patients receiving tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) or interleukin (IL)-6 inhibitors. Disease evaluated using Activity Score 28 (DAS28) at baseline, 6 months, 12 months. Based DAS28 with C-reactive protein (DAS28-CRP) values, categorized into 2 main groups: remission/low (target achieved) when DAS28-CRP value less than 3.2, insufficient response exceeded 3.2. Results The group consisted predominantly women (85.8%), mean age 58.7 years duration 12.5 years. We found that 45.8% achieved single-point LDA, 39.5% sustaining this after Notably, comorbidities such as diabetes smoking negatively affected likelihood maintaining LDA. Statistical revealed without had higher chance retaining sustained LDA (OR = 0.100; p 0.014). Conclusions These findings emphasize need for personalized treatment approaches consider lifestyle enhance efficacy management. Consequently, highlights critical importance ongoing monitoring individualized strategies improve QoL RA.
