Measurement and influencing factors of urban waterfront street vitality from the perspectives of behavior and perception

Abstract
Serving
as
the
direct
interface
for
interaction
between
waterfront
and
urban
dwellers,
street
space
environment
significantly
influences
people’s
living
experiences
social
interactions.
Despite
progress
in
renovation
development
of
streets,
these
areas
remain
underutilized
lack
vitality
expected
such
locations.
Using
Hunhe
Waterfront
Streets
Shenyang
a
case
study,
this
research
employed
Baidu
heatmap
data
Semantic
Differential
method
to
assess
both
behavioral
perceived
area.
Subsequently,
study
explored
main
factors
influencing
streets
from
three
aspects:
accessibility,
facility
configuration
environmental
construction.
It
also
examined
key
features
that
affect
under
visual
perception.
Additionally,
performed
coupling
analysis
explore
relationship
within
streets.
The
results
indicated
density
infrastructure
commercial
facilities,
well
continuity
pedestrian
paths,
were
vitality.

What Brings People to Riverfronts? Revealing Key Factors from Mobility Patterns Using De Facto Population Data

riverfronts

using

facto
population
data,

citizen
activity
location
through
mobile
information.

two
major
rivers
in
northwestern
Seoul,
covering
nine
riverfront
facilities.
Population
Vitality
(PV)
Index
(VI),
novel
measures
derived
from

calculated

tracts
used
as
a
new
indicator
spatial
activation.

include
regional
factors,

facilities,

that

densities

temporal
fluctuations.
By
utilizing
big
data
indices,
empirically
demonstrates
magnetic
effects
riverfronts,
providing
deeper
insights
into
effective
