Kalanchoe beharensis, a vulnerable species according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, is highly prized its ornamental value and medicinal properties. Therefore, an efficient methodology propagate this ecologically significant would be particular interest. The propagation K. beharensis has traditionally been achieved by seed or cuttings, but these methods are limited in efficiency. Micropropagation provides more controlled alternative enabling vitro production numerous plants small space short period time. Despite advantages, no micropropagation protocol reported literature. In study, we report regeneration beharensis. order implement this, evaluated morphogenetic response leaf root explants media supplemented with auxins, cytokinins, combination both growth regulators. Surprisingly, best results were observed indole-3-acetic acid-supplemented media. Adventitious shoots rooted either hormone-free auxin-supplemented media, acid yielding results. Rooted acclimatized greenhouse, achieving over 80% survival during acclimatization. This improves multiplication rate, utilization, uniformity, providing viable conventional methods.

In this study, the leaves of Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi were consecutively macerated with hexane, chloroform, and methanol. These extracts used to assess bioactivities plant. The antimicrobial activity was tested against a panel Gram-positive -negative pathogenic bacterial fungal strains using microdilution method. cytotoxicity K. investigated human-derived macrophage THP-1 cells through MTT assay. Finally, anti-inflammatory studied same cell line by measuring secretion IL-10 IL-6. phytoconstituents hexane chloroform evaluated gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS). addition, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) study phytochemical content methanol extract. total flavonoid (TFC) extract is also reported. chemical composition Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Results revealed that inhibited growth Pseudomonas aeruginosa at 150 μg/mL. At concentration, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Regarding their cytotoxicity, three highly cytotoxic IC50 < 3 significantly stimulated 50 μg/mL (p 0.01). GC/MS analyses contain fatty acids, sterols, vitamin E, triterpenes. HPLC analysis demonstrated constituted quercetin kaempferol derivatives. This first report in which profiles are assessed for non-polar polar extracts.

Skin aging is accelerated by inflammation processes generated oxidative stress and external factors such as UV radiation. Plants belonging to the genus Kalanchoe that are rich sources of antioxidants could potentially strengthen skin barrier if used ingredients in cosmetic formulations. However, their use limited due contents bufadienolides, known cardiotoxins. This study aimed establish a semi-quantitative profile bufadienolides juices K. blossfeldiana, daigremontiana, pinnata using UHPLC combined with charged aerosol detection (CAD) high-resolution mass spectrometry (HR-MS). Additionally, determined ability penetrate Bronaugh Diffusion Cell Apparatus Strat-M membrane. The also assessed ferric molybdenum-reducing powers, well radical scavenging capabilities these plants 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) 2,2-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonate) (ABTS) methods. vitro antihyaluronidase antityrosinase activities sun protection factor (SPF) were evaluated spectrophotometrically, indicating moderate capability inhibit enzymes, but low SPF for all analyzed juices. semi-qualitative analysis demonstrated presence occurring two from daigremontiana pinnata, highest 1,3,5-bersaldegenin-orthoacetate, bryophyllin-A/bryotoxin-C, bersaldegenin-acetate/bryophyllin-C, diagremontianin. After passing through model, no bufadienolide compounds present subcutaneous filtrate. Antiradical reduction assays revealed antioxidant potential blossfeldiana pinnata. These results indicate have antiaging appear safe dermal applications.

Kalanchoe species have been used as herbal medicines in traditional Asian medicine. One of the that has potential a medicinal plant and is still limited its studies ceratophylla . This study investigated effects drying methods, namely, freeze (FD) hot air (HAD), on bioactive compounds, phenolics, flavonoids, antioxidants leaves stems. The content compounds K stems was identified with gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry (GC‐MS) analysis. In addition, antioxidant activity K. also measured. results GC‐MS contain major including gamma.‐Sitosterol, Glutinol, Friedelan‐3‐one, Squalene, Ergost‐5‐en‐3‐ol, (3.β.)‐, Erythritol, Neophytadiene. main component leaf stem extracts gamma‐sitosterol (± 15%), which shows anticancer antidiabetic effects. FD method higher than HAD method. suggests considered appropriate should be to maintain important These findings suggest further research development essential for their pharmacological properties may warranted, developing new drugs.

Kalanchoe daigremontiana, a medicinal plant rich in bioactive compounds, has the potential to serve as feed supplement, reducing reliance on conventional livestock medications while potentially enhancing productivity. This study evaluated effects of K. daigremontiana supplementation over 52 days kidney and liver function, metabolism, weight changes, reproductive efficiency multiparous Alpine goats during breeding season. Fifty-five were assigned either control (CTL, n = 27; 47.6 ± 1.1 kg) or daigremontiana-supplemented (KAL, 28; 1.3 diet. The KAL group received at dry matter-based inclusion rate 2 kg t−1 feed, CTL no supplementation. Blood samples collected four time points assess biochemical markers function.
