Pre-service
teacher
preparation
(PSTP)

Today,
calculus
frequently
is
taught
with
artificial
intelligence
in
the
form
of
computer
algebra
systems.
Although
these
software
packages
may
reduce
tedium
associated
mechanics
calculus,
they
be
less
effective
if
not
supplemented
by
accompanying
teaching
theory.
This
paper
presents
two
examples
from
spatial
statistics
which
an
unsupervised
auto-execution
mode
fails,
or
can
fail,

yield
